Well, that was perfect timing...i forgot to post back....! my desktop machine updated itself and then the camera started to work again..... just ran it on my VM and and now also working, so, didnt have to do the above...seems to have sorted itself out... -

I dont see that atall...that being said, as i said the rear camera works fine....but its older....the one with the issue is quite a reasonably new model... -

Hi there = pretty sure i need the plugin but ill try uninstalling it....maybe a reinstall..? thanks for the reply... Edit: ive got an older one round the back of the house - DS-2DE4225IW-DE which seems to work fine....just uninstalled the plugin...still works on the rear of the house but still... -

Can i connect an external motion detector module to a Camera (HikVision)
Thanks for the reply....im kinda thinking back to my old work place where a ptz looked over the car park but, there was a motion detector just underneath that had a 180 deg range so if the camera was pointing the absolute opposite way and some one came through the gate it would literally do a...- ComfySofa

Hi there. As above... the model of my camera is a DS-2DE4A425IWG-E The reason is (and this is the way i see it pardon the pun) - am i right in saying that the camera's motion detector only picks up motion that actually comes into its view...? Ok -so not sure what happened but it appears to be working.....kind of...so theres a bunch of random blue lines everywhere....watched my nextdoor neighbour pull out of the driveway slowly and drive off down the road....the green box appeared and followed the car - it got smaller as the car went... -

Brilliant - that would be great! - its the one thing ive not been able to find - a walkthrough using my gui..! its been fine on the whole, crashed a couple of times and rebooted then it seems to have a habit (after its crashed and rebooted)of then loosing preset 2,3,4 and 5...weird...but then it... -

Yeah - Im using the VCA smart events. Do you have to set up a linkage or is a linkage to something like "start recording" that kind of thing - essentially all im looking for is the camera to record anything it sees....? "And nowAuto tracking 3.0 tracks only when event is triggered. Something... -

Predicatbly i had a go at setting it up (the way i think it should) and it's not tracking anything....i dont understand the concept of drawing a box say, the size of a person and plonking it somewhere on the screen....does the placement of that box mean that they have to passthrough that area... -

Hi there. Fitted it on the weekend. Little bit mixed but on the whole good (no fault of the camera)....ive upgraded the firmware (which has given me the new gui look) - downside but not really (and no fault of the camera) my old one was a 4x zoom model (same style) which at minimum zoom gave me... -

Just pulled the trigger on one of these as well... (the HikVision) its going to be used at the front of my house....there are streetlamps up and down the road on both sides....main reasons are... i cant have the style of the Dahua SD4A425DB-HNY - as its at the front of the house it has to go... -

Ok- ive got a good quality router which i can run a vpn on...the problem is, is, whenever i do - the whole bandwith takes a massive hit and, stuff like netflix stops working (my kids live in there!)
