Remote access not working on SmartPSSLite after camera reset

HI All

We have a remote PTZ6C4G-45X camera running off a cell router through a POE switch (ie no NVR). Worked great, it's a really nice camera.

Moved it to a new location with a new cable that was miswired, couldn't access it so reset it and reinitialized it before discovering it was the cable that was the problem.

Fixed the cable, but since the pushbutton reset, SmartPSSLite remote access doesn't work. I'm not sure what to reconfigure to get it working again. Remote access still works with the DMSS app.

Now the camera is found by SmartPSSLite only when I'm on the local network, not when trying remote internet access (error when on remote internet access is "Can't find Network Host").
When accessing Smart PSS Lite "Devices" locally, it shows the camera setup with: correct local IP, on Port 37777, has channels 1/0/7/2 and has correct serial number and password.

Oddly, as well, the camera live view image is not there when I access the camera via the IP Interface from the local network with either Edge or Chrome (just a blurry yellowish screen image).

When I reinitialized it with the Config Tool, I was just connected direct to my laptop temporarily on the same IP range, i.e. not on the internet nor on my home subnet since the cell router has a different IP range than the default camera. During initialization, I think I saw something about Easy4IP setup and UPnP but I didn't know what those were about. Looking back at the camera network settings, UPnP isn't enabled.

The Config Tool Details page reports that the camera has the "Gateway" set to the IP address of the Cell modem router which I think is the correct thing to set it to. The camera image appears in the Config Tool image section.

Thanks if you have any suggestions - still learning about a lot of this stuff bit by bit!

Couple of things to try and sort out what you're saying

I havent used the config tool in 8+ years. Its good for a few specific things, but rare that is needed. All can be done through the Camera/NVR web GUI

1- When you reset the camera via the default button it changed to the default IP address of 192.168.1.108
2- Easy4IP is the Dahua P2P service. Make sure it is enabled on the NVR (you dont need UPnP enabled)
3- You say "Remote access still works with the DMSS app". So I assume P2P IS enabled and that's what you are sing to connect to it via DMSS?

4- Do you have two entries in SmartPSS "Devices" for that camera? I ask because you say you cant access it via SmartPSS lite when remote, but you CAN access it via local and you say:
"correct local IP, on Port 37777, has channels 1/0/7/2 and has correct serial number and password." ???
You either contact it via IP OR Serial number, not both... something sounds odd or i'm misunderstanding you

It sounds like P2P IS enabled as you can access via DMSS remote (Verify what the Device details are in DMSS. IP or Serial number, ?
You can access it via SmartPSS Lite LOCAL - Via IP or Serial number?
Are you port forwarding on your Router?

Thanks Mr. BigRedFish - Very helpful comments!

1- Yes, used the Config Tool to reset the IP address to static and 192.168.0.108 which is what I used before since our cell hub/router ("Gateway"?) is set to 192.168.0.1
2- Don't have an NVR and I now don't see anywhere in camera that Easy4IP can be enabled. The Easy4IP option only appeared during initialization within the Config Tool and I didn't select it as I didn't know what it was. UPnP is described as speeding up the connection, it's not enabled. SmartPSSLite takes about 20 seconds to find the camera, even on the local connection which is annoying when something is happening that you need to see.
3- P2P must be active as you say since DMSS works, but I can't find anything in DMSS settings about it. DMSS does show an unselected setting option for DDNS that says "Please enable DDNS" - "Configure to bind the third party DDNS domain to the device Extranet IP to directly access the device". This looks like some kind of external (Non-Dahua) sort of static IP to DNS registration service that you can sign up to. Not sure if relevant in this case?
4- At one time there were several entries in SmartPSS Devices for the same camera due to fumbled attempts during setup. Deleted the ones that didn't connect. Agreed that there are two methods to add a device in Smart PSS, IP and SN - but somehow I've got both listed in the Device's section, all in the one row as in the attached image.

Maybe I should delete the camera from SmartPSS and re-add using just the IP address?

Cheers from up North, Graham

Click the little pencil icon in SmartPSS Lite as shown above
The top right box on the popup screen will say "Add Mode"
It will either have an IP or a SN

Likely it shows the IP - this is why you can connect to it locally. The 192.168.x.x IP ranges are internal, can't be connected to remotely

On DMSS, if you tap the 3 little dots top right of the camera listing, and choose "Device Details" you'll see either an IP address or SN
On DMSS I'm guessing you're using the SN which uses P2P to connect, which explains why you can view it remotely.

On SmartPSS make another entry and this time use the SN.
When Home use the IP, when remote use the SN entry
