Dahua NVR NEXT GUI

Keep in mind Andy is only a re-seller - he knows the shortcomings of the newer stuff and there are many new models he won't even sell.

I am sure if he were in charge of product development, we would get the low light performing cameras we seek and NVRs that aren't quirky.

Yes, I think will need 6-10 upgrade can be better. Those 5442 cams also have problems compare to the 1st generation HDW5231R-ZE. The product team i think have pressure to send the new things out at a time limit.
NVR they haven't update for many years, 2025 they started making very big update to it. So that is why the S1 version i haven't put on the latest GUI 5 firmware on our website.
The NVR S2 use new hardware, so have to use the latest new GUI 5.0.

I will send them the complaint.

Hallo,

1- You used to be able to use a slider to zoom in on the timeline.
That was too easy so they complicated it by making you choose a timeframe. The timeline starts at 24hours naturally so locating the event and then choosing timeframes to get to a point where you can see it and download it takes longer
I've always thought the slider was horrible to use. Hard to imagine making zooming the timeline even more difficult. Mouse wheel for zooming the timeline is the best, as with smartPSS and BI.

This is disappointing as I was planning to buy the latest Pro NVR, but the UI issues and continued need for plugin doesn't make it worth it.

Why is it that Plugins are still required? So that data can be remotely transmitted back to China via intentional bug exploit? This is a serious question.

Because they continue to build on old code instead or rewriting from scratch. Being lazy.

Dang, I never knew the Chinese would get inspired by the American way of life  As they say in New York - Ever Upward

Dumb question.... NVR5232-XI/Pro, fw V5.000.0000000.2.R, Build Date: 13/01/2026, .... where is the "Push Notifications" ? I'm not able to find it, not even on one NVR5232-EI2, fw V5.001.0000000.0.R.251220 (but when I installed the last one, a couple of months ago, it was working ...)

Good question, I dont see it on my EI2 either.

Assume its on by default? and enabled when you enable P2P?

After digging a while, seems that now the NVR's are using (here) the ip address 8.221.48.147 (8.221.48.0/24 CIDR) over tcp 443, rather than the previously used google CIDR's, at least for push notifications..., after havig added that CIDR, in the firewall policies, I can still get those notifies, with NVR linked via ip private address ( and see videos, if on differet vlan, or via vpn), without using P2P
