Yeah, behind my house is a paper street; so some people use my driveway to drive to the back of their houses. That's the reason I have four cameras pointed at the driveway. (B54PRO-Z4E, Color4K-X, Color4K-T180, and PTZ4M-25X-PV)

The camera is impressive as LPR in my case, here's snapshot - first image is roughly 180-200 feet away and plate is perfectly readable if it wasn't for some grass in front. Second snapshot is about 130 feet away. There are no street lights or other supplemental light (apart from moonlight). This was after initial setup and tuning, however after I adjusted its position a bit, something "broke" and I started getting much worse results and noise. I presume is the "known issue" with the autofocus, as sometimes the camera is with lost focus after switching between BW and color modes. Will have to tweak it further, but no spare time currently.

p.s. it was probably a noob question on my behalf, but to answer my own question a few pages back - the camera's stand CAN be rotated, you just have to untie the bolt a lot, and then give it some elbow grease. I thought I cannot rotate the stand as it was stuck very tightly even after unscrewing the bolt, and so I presumed that it was just to tighten/loosen the joint, but you can also rotate the joint's base - if it does not move for you - just give it a bit more force or try to "wiggle" it a little.

I'm continuing to experiment with the B54PRO-Z4E as a LPR, until the next revision of Andy's firmware becomes available. The camera works well as a LPR. Take for instance the example of this truck driving down my driveway at 2:40am this morning. The camera picks it up, even though it is apparent that some of the letters are painted over with something to obscure the plate reading. Funny thing is that the Color4K-T180 that I have overlooking the street picked it up best. Always surprised to see how everything works well together. That's why there is no substitute for a variety of cameras and not depending on one camera to do everything.

Curious what the 3NR setting is on the first color camera where the dude drives his pickup across the grass.

It's a good capture ... but you can see the "Pig-Pen Dust Cloud" behind it as it goes from right to left ... but it's fairly short/quick compared to the extreme examples I've posted in very low-light ... you appear to have a LOT more light than I do.

It's a 0-6 shutter with "43" 3D-NR and "37" 2D-NR. I have a center 3000 lumen light on my garage stay on at night. 3000 lumen motion sensor lights to the left and right of the garage light; so 9000 in total if they are all on.

Nice lights!

Would you agree that with 1/166s shutter speed, the "Pig-Pen Dust Cloud" persists longer than that?
Just pointing out it "exists" with the Color4K ... but I'm guessing that if you put a 54PRO with similar settings, the "Pig-Pen Dust Cloud" would be "bigger" and "longer lasting" ... which I think is the area that Dahua needs to focus their efforts on.

BTW, for those that don't know the reference, just Google it - example image below.

Maybe someone can explain this to me, because I can't figure it out. All of my cameras look the same whether I am viewing them using SmartPSSLite or with a browser on my computer. (They have the same brightness characteristics.)
However, the same is not true when I am viewing the B54PRO-Z4E and T54PRO-ZE cameras on SmartPSSLite. They are both much darker.
Yet if I view either of them with a browser on my Macintosh, like Chrome or Safari, they are much brighter. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

Here is a video clip to show what it looks like. Taken at exactly the same time with the B54PRO-Z4E camera, but the first clip uses SmartPSSLite, and the second uses Chrome.

That looks like a fine setup. Question, is that 4K-X mounted on a PFA-121 rather than a PFA-130E, or are my eyes deceiving me?

This might well be the sub stream darkness issue I have flagged, depending on which stream is being shown via the browser. Mine actually appears to have resolved itself!! but prior to this any substream below 1080 resolution was substantially darker, as per your sample.

check VLC over rtsp stream..

You will know what is really in RTSP stream and is SmartPSSLite or CHrome version wrong...

Yes, you are correct. When I first started mounting my 4K-X cams I used a PFA-130E box, and it worked great. However, when I decided to swap out the 4K-X cams from time-to-time, I realized that a square box would allow me to use both 3-hole and 4-hole mounting cams (PFA-121 and PFA-122). It sure makes it easier to switch cams, but I will say that besides the PFA-130E being a perfect fit for the 4K-X cams, I like how the box came with a metal strap that could be used to hang the camera when mounting. That is a nice option.

That is good to know, the square boxes are bulkier but useful for universal fit of 4K-X and S3 variants, noted. The 130E is a tidy box with the retaining strap, fiddly to fit but compact nonetheless.
