The bigger problem he’s going to have may be tariffs. As in removing them. Can’t spend that tariff revenue 2x and 3x times if you keep lowering the number…

I don't think it's realistic to expect there will no be pain as we try to dig ourselves out of the giant hole we have dug the last 30 years. Layoffs, retraining and finding new types of work one can do will be part of it. Not sure how much of just the gubermint reductions are contributing to the layoff numbers. Doing what we've been doing for 30+ years the sake of not feeling any pain is not a solution. It always takes time to "retool" and not realistic to expect immediate fixes for everything. This is a massive "intervention" for those addicted to how things have been run.
