US Elections (& Politics) :)

Be careful what you wish/cheer for …

Putin needs to came to the peace table .. very simple signaling from Trump

Honestly, Ukraine gave up their nukes for security guarantees. This is what security guarantees should have looked like on day 1.
( had the USA provided good security guarantees prior to the invasion they could have stopped Putin .. but well .. incompetence or corruption )

90 - 95% of all the fighting is about the money. Take away any debate that ultimately involves someone else's money and you've resolved 90 - 95% of the problems.

Geezus

Military assets on doorsteps in 3 countries while issuing provoking comments and demands wasn’t what I expected. Let alone using them domestically. Just seems like, I dunno.

I know, “they have it coming the commie bastards” , “fuck em”, “nuke ‘em into history”, “it’s 5D chess”….
I’m sure the next President won’t take advantage of the precedent. Hopefully it’ll all work out

Trump Says U.S. Engaged In ‘Armed Conflict’ With Caribbean Drug Cartels, Declaring Them ‘Unlawful Combatants’

President Donald Trump has labeled drug cartels operating in the Caribbean as “unlawful combatants” and said the U.S. is engaged in an “armed conflict,” multiple outlets reported Thursday, following recent strikes targeting alleged drug smuggling boats in the region.

The Trump administration said in a confidential notice the U.S. was engaged in an “non-international armed conflict” against the drug cartels, the Associated Press and New York Times reported, citing a person familiar with the matter and a copy of the notice, respectively.

Thought we got rid of all the buildings/equipment to enrich the uranium. Least that was what we were told several months ago.
Kind of makes you go hmmmm... maybe the intelligence reports of other countries were correct.

Generals Gathered In Their Masses…

......What to expect of the gathering of the generals? Many of us waited at the edge of our seats.

What we were able to see was a pair of not particularly well-prepared – and less well-received – speeches by Trump and Hegseth on transforming the US military into a “MAGA” force and the evils of late middle-aged rotundity among senior military personnel. The crass treatment of America’s tip military officers – whether some deserved criticism or not – will likely have an effect opposite of what was intended.

The pauses in the pre-prepared speeches meant to allow for applause were met with stony silence.

Fat-shaming and chest-pounding is not the way to go about building esprit de corps in the US military. Especially when such a dressing-down was broadcast to the rest of the country via live video hook-up.
