IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

I have the IPC-Color4K-T-180 and my IVS is not working, but not sure if my NVR is maybe not compatible, although it works fine with all my other cameras.

Firmware is V3.140.0000000.21.R, Build Date: 2024-05-14, which I believe is the latest version and I haven' tried to update it.

I reset the camera, the IVS rules fired once, in that I got a DMSS notification, but I have no recordings.

I have switched from general smart plant to scheduled smart plan, set to 24 hours, but that's not working either.

NVR is DHI-NVR5216-16P-I, which is an older model, but not that old. It's running firmware V4.002.0000000.4.R, Build Date: 25-07-2024 although I notice the security baseline is V2.1, whereas the camera is V2.4, I don't know if that makes any difference?

What do you mean by it isn't working?

Keep in mind for the 180, it is well documented here that the IVS struggles to work, especially once you get outside the middle of the field of view.

Did you draw the IVS in the camera GUI or the NVR?

So, I've put in both an intrusion box and a tripwire, just to get something to work.

In the NVR, nothing is being recorded, other than full time & Motion. No IVS events

I always do all the setup in the camera, I only do the recording schedule for the NVR on the NVR itself.

As an update to this, my wife just went out, she walked between the two vehicles, no triggering of the IVS. The IVS only flashed when the white van pulled away. And that's on maximum sensitivity

Ok, I'm not a regular on the forum and hadn't seen these issues before. I've changed the IVS to three trip wires in each 1/3 of the image and that's improved things marginally, but still not anywhere as good as my other cameras. Thankfully I also use Frigate, so that's picking up most of the events anyway, but I like the belt & braces approach of having the Dahua NVR as a back up.

I do have other cameras coving part of this area, which have much more reliable IVS, and as this camera is on continuous record, I won't miss anything, but will just have to go hunting for it, if I need it.

Yeah it is a mystery why the other cams are so good and this one struggles. I suspect it is an underperforming processor and can't keep up.

One thing I discovered with the IPC-Color4K-T180 is that IVS works better with my NVR8CH-8P-2AI's built-in IVS, rather than the camera's IVS. Whereas the camera's IVS works well at the center of the image, the NVR's IVS detects farther to the sides while remaining stable at the center, and I can leave the sensitivity set at "6," without having to increase it to maximum.

I have IVS as 1 square box allong the perimeter of the frame. It occasionally shows a Line detection in Blue Iris, but mostly its a motion trigger. but like others, I have 2 other cams with IVS also checking the scenes.
I wonder of a guy treated the Screen as two cameras and setup IVS in each half of the camera. since it's actually 2 cams. ?

Ok for the heck of it, I'm going to try 2 intrusion boxes and 1 loitering(IVS-3) box. see what happens.

For those of you playing along at home on the Blue iris Home game, Is Rule Engine/ Cell Motion = to Movement inside the IVS box?

Interesting, I've always done it in camera, but I've just added an intrusion box on the NVR and set it to use the NVR's AI, so it will be interesting to see if this improves things.

I have a Dahua NVR and Scrypted running on a PC as a LXC container in Promoxmox, I have the camera set up with movement detection as well as IVS for testing at the moment. Movement detection sends any pixel changes to Scrypted which then does the object detection. I ended up doing this for all my cameras as the object detection sometimes is not as good as I expect, plus it can only do cars/people.

I gave up on Blue Iris for the time being but it could work the same way with a software to do object detection

So, I disabled IVS in-camera and set it up on the NVR instead, with the AI by recorder set. I have both an intrusion box and a zig-zag tripwire across the entire FOV and it's not picking anything up at all. Which just seems so weird. Does placement affect AI detection? The camera is pointing down, but not that much more than some of my other cameras where IVS works flawlessly.

I'm beginning to regret getting this camera, I should have stuck with the Anneke FCD600, as that has a much wider vertical FOV, compared to this camera

I presume this IVS issue feedback has gone back to Dahua?

Here is a clip from a few moments ago. Ever since I switched to IVS on the NVR, it has worked much better at detection.
Is that quite a new NVR? Mine has some AI built-in, but it's an older model and it doesn't seem to want to work with this camera, using the Camera's IVS or the NVRs IVS. Also, your box around the car looks very different to mine.
