I’m currently using IVS on my 54IRs and spiders are causing them to trigger them as a human. I have sensitivity set at 4 and the minimum object size as about as large as I can for the FOV. What can I try next? Thanks

Make sure MD or SMD are not accidentally on. This can happen if not using IE or Edge not in IE mode. It may show off but really be on when checked in IE.

Do you have an SD card in the camera and confirm the IVS is triggering?

I use Brave browser on a PC, I checked and neither is on. Edge also shows them as off. There is no SD card in the camera.

They're not perfect in that regard. I have a bug/spider activate IVS on occasion, but rare.

You are checking and making settings on the camera itself and not on the NVR right?

You would think this would activate IVS but it rareky does on my 4K-Ts or 54IR's.

Yes, on the camera. I look at the spiders causing it to trigger, and I just can’t see how it triggers as a human. It wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I have Critical Alerts enabled for overnight and the false positives wake me up.

On threads about spider triggers, somebody will eventually step up and post the flamethrower picture.

AI/IVS isnt near as perfect as described. We’ve all watched too many movies.

I’m getting 5-6 false alerts per night all of a sudden from an otherwise dependable Z4 because the scene lighting (darker than I’d prefer) changed and the neighbor planted a bush that IVS thinks is a human due to vehicle lights changing light direction as they pass making it seem as if the human shaped bush/tree moves.

That said it’s 1000% better than old fashioned pixel changing motion sensing. Lighting can make a huge difference.

I have alerts set at night too.
But I don’t rely on them or have them wake me up.

I use reliable perimeter sensors to do that.

I go around a couple times a year with bug spray and spray a ring around the cameras and the sides of the camera and that usually keeps the spiders at bay.

Oh I hate when a neighbor plants or removes something and jacks up the camera LOL.

I spent many hours readjusting my autotracking PTZ when my neighbor planted some trees that the camera would lock onto as someone walked by at night.

That’s a good idea. I live in a very rural area with lots of wildlife and insects. I’ll spray as you suggested and see how that works. Thanks.

My city just planted a tree in front of my house last year at the spot where my PTZ usually point at. The area now gets darker and more interference from the tree branches.
They added trees every 2-3 houses apart.
:(

I sprayed a 2' circle around every camera and I'm still getting spiders triggering as humans. I'm using a sensitivity setting of 4, should I bump it down to something lower? Other than that, should I consider using the built-in Ai in Blue Iris instead? Thanks!

Did you try the global config?

And maybe pull the IVS rules into the center some so the camera has time to see the object before having to decide if it should trigger.

Does it trigger with one or the other or both rules?

For kicks, I would open up actual Internet Explorer and confirm actual IE shows MD/SMD off.

We have seen instances where it shows off in one browser, but shows on in IE.

Heck I can open up Edge and change the time zone and save it and hit refresh 3 times and still shows the time zone I changed it to, but open in IE and it shows the original correct time zone and not the time zone I was changing it to in Edge.

I haven't tried global config. I'll look into it. It has triggered with both rules and I'll try bringing the rule edges in a little. Tonight, I'm testing the BI built-in AI to see how it works.
