I have a PTZ425DB-AT that has IVS on with auto tracking. Unfortunately, as soon as motion stops the camera returns to the preset position. Is there a way for it to stay parked for a set amount of time before returning to the preset??

Sadly it doesn't exist on any PTZ.
The closest you can get is to set up spotter cams to move the PTZ to certain areas. Or don't have the zoom so tight and hope it locks on a tapping foot or slightly moving hand.

Many of us have mentioned the same thing- a dwell time of say 10 seconds.
But even if it could, it wouldn't work.
1- Because its moved from its preset, there is no longer any IVS rule in the scene to re-activate tracking
2- Assuming you overcome that, Lets say person A is being tracked and goes behind a wall... now person B (or a vehicle) comes out from behind the same wall 30 seconds later.
You're now tracking someone/something completely different.
The only way I see that working is when/if AI gets so good it can A) remember the last target it tracked and B) store enough characteristics to positively ID that target in the given dwell time.
Now picture this whole thing in a scene with a crowd of a dozen, or 100 people....
But even if it could, it wouldn't work.

I ran into something similar on another Dahua-based PTZ. As far as I know, the return to the preset is generally controlled by the Idle Motion or Park Action settings, but when IVS auto-tracking is enabled, some firmware versions ignore any delay and go back to the preset almost immediately after tracking ends.
I'd check if your firmware has a park time, idle timeout, or return delay option under PTZ settings, but if you don't see one, it may simply not be supported on that model/firmware.
If anyone has found a way around it, I'd be interested too. A 10–30 second delay before returning to the home preset would make auto-tracking much more useful, especially if the target briefly stops or moves out of view and then reappears.

How would it know to track? Unless it just tracks any human/vehicle.
And how does that work in a crowded scene?
