What's the difference here between these two NVRs, please? I am looking to make certain I buy an NVR that is compatible with the 5442 cameras as well as the

You dont want to mix and match camera brands and NVRS. Pick a brand and stick with it.

The difference on the two NVRs is that the first has 16 PoE ports built into it and the 2nd one requires you buy an external PoE switch (no built in PoE ports)
