What cha listening to?

14 minutes

Save this one for late in the evening, with a glass of your favorite bourbon, maybe a cigar, lights down, no distractions…and be patient

Smartphone doesn’t do it justice, extra credit if you listen to it with a Hi powered amp and a pair of vintage Pioneer HPM 100s or Klipsch Cornwall’s

(The impatient can skip to about 8:00)

I know you love it a lot 'cause you posted it (Ithink) June of 2022.

I could listen to Mark all by himself, no accompaniment, nothing....just his guitar.
Time for a bump

He did this one at that same venue, but with operatic accompaniment:

36 years ago, I was on a business trip to Chicago. Didn’t visit there often as I had no distribution there, so spent a few days meeting with and trying to sign up a new distributor

I’m staying at a fancy hotel on the waterfront alone, I think it was a Hilton?
Anyway got hungry and went out looking for a bite and a drink.

A couple of streets off the waterfront I find Buddy Guys Legend Club

Sat down for a corned beef sammich and a glass of bourbon and who walks on stage but the man himself!

Incredible evening

I've always been a huge Knopfler fan. The first time I heard this I had never heard of Dire Straits. I thought the guy singing kinda sounded like Dylan on a good day, but kept saying damn! who is that playing guitar! So different than the grunge, punk, and heavy metal going at the time, a very refreshing melodic sound, very unique.
