Weirdness moving through BI alerts list

I suspect this is something that may have become corrupt in Windows 10. It seemed to start several BI updates ago. I thought maybe the next stable update might fix it but it didn't. I dreaded reinstalling BI to try and cure it but the reinstall went very smoothly, however I still have the problem. I'm just curious if anyone else has encountered this.
When moving through the BI alert list, which I do very often, I use the BI console. It is very erratic, using the up or down arrows, if I arrow up or down it jumps back to where it was before I arrowed up or down. I can do 3 or 4 quick arrows up or down and it returns to where it was. Sometimes it will behave for 5 or 10 movements ok, then start again. I have tried changing the sort order, changed icon size in alerts list, tried changing from my bluetooth keyboard to a usb keyboard, no joy. I may be forgetting other things I've tried. I do not see this problem using UI3.
At this point it is just very annoying, I think at this time I would rather live with it than reinstall Windows. I haven't noticed anyone posting with this issue but sometimes it depends on the way you word your search.

Happens to me too in Blue Iris local console. This isn't the kind of thing that would happen due to corruption. This is some kind of asynchronous event (like a clip starting to play) causing a clip to be selected in the clip list viewer. Looks like it might happen when a clip finishes loading. And possibly at other times too. Tell Blue Iris support.

Thanks, good to know it's not just me. I emailed BI support, I'll let you know what I hear. I told him that if he thinks it is a BI issue that will be addressed in BI 6 I can wait it out, I've put up with it this long.

For me it only messes with the selection/scroll position if I actually open a clip and play it, then try to navigate with keys. So if you press enter to open a clip, then, down, down, down a few times, it will jump back up after a short moment.

5.9.9.85: tried replicating it. Not seeing it . using both keystrokes as described by Bp2008 and w mouse.
I never even thought to "arrow" up or down before. :)

I do not see that issue on mine. I tried the up and down arrow keys, but normally I just use my mouse wheel. Both work instantly for me. 5.9.9.93

I am on 5.9.9.93 too. I also noticed that when I use my mouse wheel to scroll in the alert list it now moves the opposite way it did before, but the clips list still moves the same way as usual. I mentioned that in my email to support.

That I do see and have for quite a while.

OK, I heard from Ken, he asked about my CPU usage which is low. I also just tried viewing clips and had no issue at all moving to the next clip, it only happens with alerts. @bp2008 can you verify this too?
Also, he showed me where the setting is to change the direction of the scrolling with the mouse wheel.

Maybe I'm the only one that views alerts this way but I usually hit enter to play alert, then I either delete it or arrow to the next alert while it is playing. When Ken asked about it I tried something different and I hope it is a clue. I tried playing an alert, hit esc, then arrow to the next alert. Sometimes after I a play an alert and hit esc the alert I just played is highlighted in color but the previous alert is outlined with the dotted rectangle around it, then when I arrow down the dotted outline on the previous alert goes away and the alert I just played is still color highlighted and it plays again. Sometimes the dotted outline is 2 alerts back, not the previous one.
Sorry to bore you, I don't think anyone else is bothered by this issue.
