Are they running some kind of Night Chemical fun Lab over there next door?
A few?I’ve been foggy for a few nights myself
Yup, you were right. My IPC-B5442E-Z4E still works. It turns out the issue I was having was due to a faulty POE switch. I should have examined the log file in more detail. At any rate the symptoms were strange. The Switch was dropping the signal on all of my cameras at random times and would then reconnect them. The camera usually reconnected so quickly I did not notice an issue until my IPC-B5442E-Z4E went offline for about 14 hours one day. What is strange is that I switched ports, rebooted, etc, and the camera would still not come back online. I thought it was dead and then hours later it's working? I rashly concluded the camera was dying a slow death. Nope, my Switch was. A few days later the Switch went belly up. I had an older Switch that I put in place and since then not one camera has lost it's signal. This switch is flaky, too. It sometimes goes offline until it gets rebooted but when it's running there are no issues. I have ordered a new NetGear Switch and with any luck it should solve the problem. As a result of my lack of due diligence I am the new owner of a 6mmJust be sure on replacing the Z4
First because it’s rare for them just to “stop working” you may have a cable, networking, or settings issue.
Secondly because a Z4 with up to 32mm of zoom is very different than a fixed 6mm camera regardless of the series or brand.
The Z4 and the 4K-X are very different cameras with typically very different purposes

IPC-Color4K-X S2 8MP camera. It has a very good image and a laser beam light. Not yet sure where it's going. I need to come to terms with the laser beam...![]()
