I just got a new Asus AC86U router up and running. One of the reasons I purchased this router was to be able to set up a tunnel VPN using OpenVPN. I do not have a WAN static IP address so I was planning to use the free Asus DDNS server, but after exploring this option it looks like using this server may open a lot of privacy issues. Apparently Asus picks up a lot of your internet activity this way. How much or what it is used for I do not know.

Does anyone else have concerns about this? Any other free options?

please provide info on how ASUS picks up you activity/ Please provide links to testing and articles.

On further investigation..........I issue a retraction!!

EULA in Asus firmware states:
Please note that your information will be collected by Trend Micro through AiProtection, Traffic analyzer, Apps analyzer, Adaptive QoS and web history.

I somehow got the idea that the use of Asus DDNS services is included.

However, I am glad to know that IP Cam Talk DDNS is available. thanks.
