Hi,

I need to extract voice conversation from footage I've recorded with BI.
I guess BI itself doesn't have this capability inside, so I'm trying to find a way to export audio only.

Is that possible ? or I have to send the full video.

Thanks

What I have done in the past is to export the video and then, using a video editor, spool off the audio track and save it to a file.

It would be nice if there was a check box to discard video and retain audio when exporting from BI. As noted above, one solution is to export the video with audio and then extract the audio from the mp4 file using another program.

If the selection is large, then the time required for BI to process the video/audio can take some time. In order to shorten the BI processing time change the "Encoder Options" as shown below. There will still be video, but it will be of very poor quality as it is a by product of the process and will be discarded. As an example, an 88 meg file was reduced to 507 kb.

Then to extract the audio from the video use VLC and if additional audio processing is required then use Audacity for the final audio touch up.

An option to VLC, and in my opinion easier to use, is Shutter Encoder a free program. It also has some basic audio processing built in. Drag the mp4 file into the box and select the desired audio file output.

Audio Files Supported
WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, AC3, OPUS, Vorbis, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD

Hey @Alaska Country do you know of a really good video editor that can do great audio processing? Like isolating spoken words over other sounds? It looks like Adobe Premiere might be good as it says you can remove background noise and there is some kind of AI-powered Enhance Speech option. But I can't find much on their website that really details any of this. Plus they only sell it as a subscription service.
