Very hazardous Amazon vendor illustration mistake

I was looking on amazon for a couple of LED canopy lights for my garage when I ran across this illustration, shown below. One of several that you click on then it zooms in as you mouse over it. I didn't notice it at first because the colored circles are small and subtle then I saw it.....the GREEN circle is labelled "LINE" and the BLACK circle is labelled "GROUND", just backwards from how it should be. If an unknowing person was to follow that color code, they'd be putting 120 VAC on the frame of the lighting fixture! :wow:

After I post this I will attempt to let amazon know of the error with the vendor's image. I just realized they no longer provide a link below product descriptions to report errors, etc.

AMAZON-OOPS.jpg

UPDATE, 3/30 0845 CT: I discovered other products still show the "Report incorrect product information" link below the item, but not the aforementioned light fixture. I was however, able to do an online chat and the CSR stated she felt that it was indeed serious, said she'd "elevate" my notice to a team that examines such complaints. we shall see!

"Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding our fine product. Objects depicted may not represent actual product purchase. Always bring the use of qualified personnel to install product based on local regulations to you."

What are the odds they simply replace that image with a monochrome version?

Amazon product listings are a mess. They don't want to hear about the problems because it costs money to fix them.

A while back I found someone had hijacked one of Andy's old 2mp starlight camera listings with all its positive reviews to sell some battery powered fisheye spy cam. I told Andy about it at the time but he didn't seem too concerned. Like, this is just the way e-commerce works now.

If I click Report incorrect product information on this page, nothing happens. Not even an error in the console.

Amazon has been constantly lowering customer support. I had links to their support and they no longer work. Finding real customer support is like looking for a needle in a haystack on Amazon now. They just don't give a damn any more.

HaHaHa, I wonder how many returns they got about defective products tripping the breakers.

You know what happens when you "assume", right?

If they're lucky, maybe because it would not come on....
Actually, it probably will NOT trip the breaker.....the metal reflector/shell would be hot and it would likely be screwed into a plastic box in a sheetrock ceiling, both insulators; the earth ground in the box from the house's panel would be tied to the fixture's black, so the fixture would not light up, no breaker would trip...what WOULD "light up" would be the poor soul that was holding onto the metal fixture while he touched some good earth ground or good neutral originating from the panel, most likely in the ceiling box when troubleshooting why the #$%^ fixture won't light up !! :nervous:
