I'm not supporting what California is doing, just saying that this video is close to 100% fiction in what it says about AB 1421. Read it yourself and explain how the video is correct.

This is another video that misstates the facts. Its audio says about California AB 1421 "The bill...directs the California transportation commission to design a per-mile driving tax program." It does no such thing. It says AB 1421 requires a full implementation plan by 2027. Wrong again, the bill it amends chapter 3090 of the California Vehicle Code to extend the expiration date of the existing committee FROM 2027 to 2035. The video makes numerous claims about AB 1421 that are actually speculation about the existing California Vehicle Code sections 3090 to 3093. The only thing the bill does is extend the expiration date of a previously passed bill to form a committee to design the program. The committee began 6 years ago. It is nothing new as this video states. This is the entire action of AB 1421:

Section 3093 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:​

3093.​

This chapter shall remain in effect only until January 1, 2027, 2035, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted statute, that is enacted before January 1, 2027, 2035, deletes or extends that date.

I am not at all discussing the tax issue. I'm pointing out another wrong facts click bait video designed to influence thinking with wrong "facts". This video IMO could IMO have the same impact using the correct facts, but I guess that's too much to ask.
