US Elections (& Politics) :)

Supreme Court just handed Trump a massive win - 5-4 RULING UNLEASHES WARTIME POWERS FOR HUGE GANG DEPORTATIONS!
"In a stunning 5-4 ruling, the U.S Supreme Court has granted President Donald Trump broad wartime authority under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act" - breaking news dropping like thunder.

This means Tren de Aragua thugs get shipped straight to El Salvador's monster prison - no more games, real enforcement hitting violent gangs hard and making streets safer for American families.

Federal judge denies request to block ICE surge in Minnesota

A federal judge on Saturday denied a state government request to block the Trump administration's deployment of thousands of federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In a ruling, District Court Judge Katherine Menendez said the immigration enforcement operation "has had, and will likely continue to have, profound and even heartbreaking, consequences on the State of Minnesota". But, she said, state officials had not proved that the Trump administration's surge of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis was unlawful.

The ruling comes as thousands nationwide have taken to the streets to protest the fatal shootings of two US citizens by federal agents.

Is this video talking about a different California bill? I can't find any resemblance between what the video says about the bill, and what the bill says.

The video says that the bill will add a 6 to 9 cent per mile tax and require realtime tracking of vehicles.
The bill text says it extends the expiration date of a committee looking into a mileage tax. That's all it does.

I'm not supporting what California is doing, just saying that this video is close to 100% fiction in what it says about AB 1421. Read it yourself and explain how the video is correct.
My understanding... AB 1421 authorizes the study and evaluation of mileage-based fees only. It does not create or authorize a mileage tax. Opposing this bill would primarily stop or limit the state’s formal research and reporting on such a fee, rather than stop an actual tax from being imposed. I don't want them studying this.
  • AB 1421 keeps the research infrastructure alive (committees, reports, timelines).
  • Without it, lawmakers don’t get updated official recommendations.
  • But even if AB 1421 dies, the Legislature could still introduce a brand-new bill later that directly creates a mileage tax.
  • Conversely, passing AB 1421 does not make a mileage tax happen — it just preserves the option for future consideration.
So yes — opposition is about cutting off the runway, not blocking a plane that’s already in the air.

Is this how Haley got the UN Ambassador job.

'STOP THE SCAMS!' Trump announces new office in DOJ dedicated to investigating fraud

The Blaze ^ | January 29, 2026 | Cooper Williamson

Trump's pick for the top spot in the new office is expected to uncover more fraud as more investigations continue.

With more and more fraud being investigated and exposed across the country, the Trump administration has created a new office specially dedicated to prosecuting these types of crimes.

On Wednesday night, President Trump announced the creation of the office and his nominee to run it.

"I am pleased to nominate Colin McDonald to serve as the first ever Assistant Attorney General for National FRAUD Enforcement, a new Division at the Department of Justice, which I created to catch and stop FRAUDSTERS that have been STEALING from the American People," Trump said on Truth Social. "My Administration has uncovered Fraud schemes in States like Minnesota and California, where these thieves have stolen Hundreds of Billions of Taxpayer Dollars."

Trump called McDonald a "very Smart, Tough, and Highly Respected AMERICA FIRST Federal Prosecutor" and promised that the administration would "RESTORE INTEGRITY" to the federal programs.

"STOP THE SCAMS!" Trump concluded.

McDonald, though not a well-known figure on the national stage, has a resume built for the new position.

For example, McDonald successfully prosecuted a large-scale conspiracy in 2020 that the judge in the case called "staggering in its breadth, its scope, and its audacity."

The conspiracy case, which involved multiple people including the former police chief of Honolulu, brought multiple charges and sent several people to prison for years.

Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general under Pam Bondi, signaled his approval of the choice on X: "Colin is a rockstar, who was instrumental in our team's mission of Making America Safe Again. He is a consummate prosecutor who loves God, family, and country and will serve the President and the American people well."

Likewise, ambassador and chief of protocol Monica Crowley cheered on the decision: "President Trump is putting an end to the United States of Fraud."

The announcement was made amid ongoing talks between the Trump administration and the leadership of Minnesota, one of the primary hot spots of widespread fraud.

Not that I care....but it got my attention because I'm sure it triggered a bunch of people with TDS.

If ICE were smart, they'd have all the exits covered.

And another gem:

The article text says he rammed an ICE vehicle. Not an agent.

Pretty much every political post or article now is propaganda, from both left and right media.

This guy is pretty cool-- a hiker/mountain climber in Croatia who posts videos of his treks. He usually does an overnight in a "survival shelter" along the trails. This one is at the top of the highest peak in Croatia. Cool video (and channel), with some scary climbing in parts. I wish to hell I could still do such things.

EDIT:
DAMNIT--- wrong thread!!! SOooooooooo :offtopic:
