Everybody Relax’: Speaker Mike Johnson Schools Press on the Possibility of U.S. Going to 'War' on Greenland

Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-4) brilliantly schooled members of the press, saying that diplomacy with Greenland is part of the Make America Great Again agenda that President Donald Trump promised before he was reelected to the White House. He shut down claims of the U.S. purchasing the island or using the U.S. military to take it.

Speaking to members of the media on Wednesday, Johnson was faced with several questions about talk of the Trump administration possibly buying Greenland or even acquiring it through more alleged forceful actions.

We’re not at war with Greenland,” Johnson said. “We have no intention of being, we have no reason to be at war with Greenland, OK?"

Later, he added, "So, all this stuff about military action and all that. don’t even think that’s a possibility. I don’t think anybody’s seriously considering that. And in the Congress, we’re certainly not.”

“It is an America First priority to look to our strategic and national defense initiatives and what would be advantages to us,” he added. “Greenland offers a lot of that...Obviously, the strategic importance of its geographical placement. But also the rare earth minerals that are there, and everything else."

“ That is directly in line with commitments made on the campaign trail by President Trump and all of us to seek America’s interests first," Johnson continued. “Now that said, does that mean we're going to go send troops into Greenland and take it over? No. I mean, they only have, what, 40, 50 thousand people there. This is not a thing.”

When he was pressed about comments made in the SCIF by Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the U.S. alleged plans to buy Greenland, he pointed out he took it as a joke made among former colleagues …

He should talk to his deranged Daddy.

(How do people actually believe this kind of blatant lying?)
This is a grade school attempt at calming the cult and trying to sooth over the stupid shit his boss and Rubio have said.

Can Anyone with any logical reasoning can explain:
If the US is already spending $2 Trillion+ per year more than it takes in (deficit that now eats 20% of every one of your tax dollars), how exactly are we going to increase Defense (or “War” Dept ) spending by 50% from $1 Trillion to $1.5 Trillion next year?

>> Did wifey make her interfere with ICE?

A blood-covered woman who identified herself as the wife of Renee Nicole Good hysterically blamed herself for her partner’s killing at the hands of ICE agents, gut-wrenching footage shows.

The woman was filmed distraught and sobbing just steps from Good’s wrecked car in Minneapolis Wednesday morning, as a neighbor who heard the commotion asked her what happened.

“I made her come down here, it’s my fault,” the woman said through sobs. “They just shot my wife.”

U.S. Has Many Options on Greenland--Now Is the Time To Act

President Trump’s decisive action against the illegitimate Maduro regime in Venezuela has focused world attention on the Western Hemisphere. This is all to the good, as the Trump administration has made clear the priority Washington attaches to its own neighborhood. The recent National Security Strategy emphasized that after three decades of counterproductive wars in the Middle East and South Asia, this administration would prioritize defense of the American homeland and our own hemisphere. It further established the “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine, holding that “extra-hemispheric powers” (think China, Russia, and Iran) would not be permitted to meddle in the hemisphere. Maduro’s connivance with all three contributed to his downfall under this long-overdue recalibration of America’s core interests.

Since the Maduro operation, speculation has abounded as to whether the president will pursue further action under the rubric of “hemispheric defense,” the traditional American strategic concept of fortifying key defensive nodes across the hemisphere. Greenland, which the president has long expressed interest in bringing closer to the United States, represents the most important and strategically necessary step in furthering America’s hemispheric defense umbrella. And while President Trump has greatly advanced the conversation on Greenland’s criticality to U.S. national security, he is not the first commander in chief to actively seek to acquire Greenland: Presidents from Andrew Johnson to Woodrow Wilson to Franklin Roosevelt to Dwight Eisenhower have all pursued acquisition of the world’s largest island.

With the momentum building for the Trump administration to expand upon its appropriate and overdue prioritization of the Western Hemisphere and its defense, the president can take several appropriate and proportional actions that advance his very real interest in bringing Greenland closer to the United States. Such actions are warranted by the extraordinary threat posed to U.S. national security should adversaries like China and Russia gain...

Agreed....and I still wonder about THIS crap from Feb. 2025 that was uncovered by DOGE:
  • $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
  • $70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
  • $2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
  • $47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
  • $32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
  • $2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
  • $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
  • Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation
  • Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab
  • “Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”
  • Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries
  • Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban

Now we have Russia-Iran-China-North Korea forming a coalition

OK, if that's a legit video it looks like there was contact between the car and the agent. The car was certainly not trying to "run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them" as ICE leadership is said to have claimed. Then there's the issue of the front wheels turned to the right and not responding due to the ice, which of course the agent couldn't be aware of. Say it's the worst case, the woman being an obnoxious whack job and trying to flee from the scene. Shouldn't her death sentence be decided by a court? I don't see any other agents being threatened by the car's trajectory after the contact. This situation looks like what I see on TV about the German gestapo and SS.

Next month, Lord willing, I'll celebrate my 77th birthday.
  • I served 2 tours in Vietnam and am still here.
  • I worked over 31 years in the roadway and overhead, on live, electrified traffic signals and street lighting and am still here.
  • In 2025 I went through radiation and chemotherapy for colorectal cancer and am still here.
  • But most of all....I have never tried to run over any law enforcement officers and am still here.

You SIR are my hero!
Thanks for that but going back the next morning and reading my post I sounded somewhat "full of myself" and that was not my intent. What I was trying to sarcastically emphasize is that one of the best ways to not get shot and killed by law enforcement is to NOT try and run over them with your car.

We are blessed to begin with in that we deserve nothing and it is by God's grace that we draw breath minute-to-minute. It makes no sense to me to try and bring His infinite grace to what could be a premature end by intentionally being an idiot.
