Home Depot .. 100% does not want to see ICE enforcement action .. day laborers were certainly a big factor for Home Depot sales volume
But I will say they are mostly gone, and I can this because I have recently been to about 4 different Home Depots. Wait, I did see a few at one on FM 1960 in Houston a few days ago. But they were not where I have seen them before there, they moved more out to the street.

Judge Dismisses Cases Against Comey, Letitia James

As Axios notes;

  • The indictment against Comey came as the statute of limitations was set to expire. Trump ousted U.S. attorney Erik Siebert, who had reportedly believed there was not enough evidence to bring a case against Comey or New York Attorney General Letitia James.
  • Trump replaced Siebert with Lindsey Halligan, who had previously worked for him. She is now serving as the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia despite having no prosecutorial experience.
  • Judge William Fitzpatrick warned in a November opinion that "a disturbing pattern of profound investigative missteps" could have undermined the proceedings, leaving the indictment in jeopardy.

Here's that FY 2025 Budget Deficit.

What would you reduce to cut it down to size?

Kelly: ‘I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies’

By MATT BROWN

“When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution,” Kelly said in a Monday statement. “I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired — which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents.”

He added that Hegseth’s social media post “is the first I heard” of the Pentagon’s investigation.

“I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death,” Kelly said.

“If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work,” Kelly added. “I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.”

First increase corporate income taxes and estate and gift taxes. Also, get rid of the earned income tax credit, we can't afford it :(

Reduce Medicare and Medicaid costs by finding true corruption, not political BS. Overall, find a way to lower healthcare costs... don't ask me how... that's above my paygrade.

Increase individual income taxes if necessary.

There is no one answer.

But we vote for /hire people to manage this and our Congress and countless administrations have ignored it.

At the end of the day we have NO choice. Interest on the debt is almost 1 $Trillion. We aren't that far off from being FORCED to cut spending to pay the debt.

On top level macro cuts and waste for starts:

I'd probably look for ways to cut Defense by 100-200 Billion, dont think we need a military base in every country, and we're still paying $4000 for a bag of screws.
I'd look real hard at "Other non-interest Spending" - maybe another 100-200 billion in there? Who knows what that all is?
SS/Medicare/Medicaid is 30% of the budget. While political suicide, there should be ways to slow it between raising by a year? for eligibility (from 62-63 for as example), cutting out the max earnings on contributions, raising payroll tax by .2 to .4 %, and even something like a graduated scale where benefits increase as you get older but start lower.

First thing I'd do is cut the payroll of congress by 3/4. Second I would do is make congress pay for health care and use the exact same health care we the little plebs use.

Third, make congress pay for their own security, transportation, etc...
Get rid of the dept of education. It doesn't do a dang thing states can do themselves.

Medicaid, rein it in.
Then all the black ops that cost billions... We don't need it all.

These are kind of suspect for me. Yeah, I'm a cruel bastard who is not big in transfer to wealth from one group to another certain group just because said people just exist. Lastly, regarding the OTHER NON-INTEREST SPENDING we probably should cut back on our UFO/blackops program a little bit.

Sure, there are lots of easy low hanging fruit like that. I’m more focused on the Big ones.
Problem is Elon tried to do some if it and got shut down.

I don’t think you cut out Medicare entirely, I think having a social safety net is important for a society.

Lets face it, within the next 10 years you’re going to see interest on the debt become unmanageable without painful cuts.

Government benefits in general will be reduced, Defense will continue to grow, and we’re gonna be truly fucked

Exclusive: Bessent Says Trump Administration Has Conquered ‘Three I’s’ That Were ‘Eviscerating Working Americans’

The Trump administration has successfully addressed the “three I’s” that he said were devastating working-class Americans: immigration, interest rates, and inflation, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an exclusive interview with Breitbart Business Digest co-authors Alex Marlow and John Carney released Monday.

Bessent pointed to a March 2024 article he wrote for Fox Digital titled “How the Three I’s Are Eviscerating Working Americans” as the framework for understanding the administration’s economic progress.

“Immigration, interest rates and inflation,” Bessent said, ticking off the three factors. On immigration: “Borders closed, promise made, promise kept.”

On interest rates, Bessent noted that the 10-year Treasury yield stood at 5.08 percent when Trump took office and now sits around 4 percent. “Mortgage rates key off of that,” he said, adding that he believes short-term interest rates could decline further.

Inflation to “Bite the Dust” in Coming Months

The Treasury Secretary expressed strong confidence about inflation trends. “I am very confident over the coming six, 12 months, we are going to see the third I bite the dust, and inflation is going to come down,” Bessent said.

He attributed falling inflation partly to lower energy prices. “Over my career, all or most big inflations start with an energy problem, and so energy goes into everything, even food prices at the grocery store,” Bessent explained. “So we’ve got that.”

Bessent previewed an upcoming study from the Council of Economic Advisers showing dramatic inflation differences between red and blue states. “The best way to get your inflation rate down 50 or 60 basis points is move from a blue state to a red state,” he said. “Red state inflation is at least half a percent lower than blue state inflation.”

So is that by household or by person? And will you get a check?

(Pretty sure Congress would have to pass legislation)

The young lad must just listen to daddy and not listen to what's really going on. Many republicans have already stated they will vote NO on anyone getting a check.
Unless Trump tries to by-pass congress AGAIN and do his own thing.
