New: Trump Announces Second Big Deal on Drug Pricing for Americans

As RedState previously wrote, President Trump and the CEO of Pfizer, Dr. Albert Bourla spoke at a press conference at the White House about striking a new deal on lowering prescription drug prices for Americans. As my colleague Ward Clark wrote in late September, "President Trump announced that Pfizer will be discounting drugs sold on the American market by 50 to 100 percent."

The president added that newer drugs from the pharmaceutical giant would be sold at a reduced rate through his Most Favored Nation policy:

We're also announcing that, moving forward, all new medications introduced by Pfizer to the American market will be sold at the reduced, most-favored-nation cost. So we'll be paying, essentially, what other countries are paying.

On Friday, a second big name in drug manufacturing agreed to a deal, announcing it at the White House, with AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Soriot standing alongside the president, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Health and Human Services), Administrator Mehmet Oz (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), and Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

"Today, AstraZeneca — the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the UK — is committing to offer Americans major discounts on their vast catalog of prescription drugs and a Most Favored Nations pricing cause," Pres. Trump said, then explained that MFN means "you're going to pay whatever the lowest price is in the world."

He said that Americans would soon be able to seek out the lower priced medications at a new website, TrumpRx.gov:

.@POTUS: "@AstraZeneca will also list many of their most popular drugs online at TrumpRx ... at heavily reduced, Most Favored Nations costs. Americans can expect discounts ... it could be, in many cases, way over 100%." pic.twitter.com/lxrofUQoLw— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) October 10, 2025

Is this the country you want?

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A U.S. citizen in Portland, Oregon, was detained by plainclothes officers and held at the city’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building for hours before being released, according to his attorney.

Frank Miranda was outside his place of work early on Oct. 2 when multiple agents wearing masks, who did not identify themselves, approached him and told him he was “on an overstay,” his attorney Michael Fuller said. In a video that Miranda took of his detention, he can be heard saying, “What do you mean, overstay? I don’t know what that is.”

He told the officers that he was born in California. After objecting to being taken into custody and saying he hadn’t done anything wrong, an officer can be heard on the video saying, “We’re gonna put you in cuffs or you’re gonna get the dog.”

Miranda was then struck from behind, handcuffed and put into an unmarked vehicle that took him to Portland’s ICE building, Fuller said. He was held there for several hours before being driven back to his place of work.

ICE and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to emailed requests for comment.

Hard to say. CDC hasn’t exactly had our best interests in mind with the mRNA kill shot coverup

The challenge always is identifying the wheat from the chaff .. I knew some good folks who used to work for the CDC as MDs ..

Yup

So lose your insurance or pay more is going to be the solution.

I would love to see folks who Ra Ra this find out they have a self employed family member who is about to get fucked

And that article stretches way beyond reality and factually wrong in so many ways, Its not for the fucking wealthy or employed by a company who offers health care.
And you have to laugh at those who say it single handedly raised rates. Rates were already going through the roof with private insurance. Thats why it was created in the first place.
Insurance companies raise the rates, not "Obamacare". And they will continue to do so.

Christ the very first 3 bullet points of this garbage are demonstrably false
  • Blindly tossing fresh trillions down that hole is nuts: Time to fix it — or scrap it altogether.
  • The 10-year cost of Dems’ current demand totals almost a half-trillion dollars, to benefit primarily insurers and wealthier Americans.
  • Under the expiration that Democrats wrote into law, 1.6 million Americans (just 0.5% of the population) would see their subsidies return to pre-COVID levels.
And another
- Fact is, Obamacare was a calamity from the start: It raised taxes, destroyed the old (imperfect, but functional) private insurance market and slapped all kinds of requirements on insurers, spiking costs.

The "old" insurance market is still the same Insurers selling Obamacare. I dont think many even know that the fuck it is. Its still buying insurance from the same insurers, with offsetting subsidies depending on income, and with plans that aren;t garbage like was being sold by the "old insurance market" which didnt cover shit. 20 year olds can get buy with that gamble, older folks over say 40 not so much. And no insurer would take you with a pre existing condition. Its like the Men in Black used that light thingy and destroyed everybody's memory for a Fox News headline

I’m seeing so many of these type of posts on X it’s hilarious.

I wonder what shitforbrains and those like him will do when he finds out Obamacare/ACA has nothing to do with his employer shared cost private insurance, and if anything it’s going UP 18% on average.

You’re going to dump everyone in ACA into the private market.

Unless I have a major surgery or health issue, I will never come close to meeting our deductible.
We pay thousands in insurance premiums on our best plan from our employer. This cannot continue.
