As I've said for a long time....what Dems spew forth about Reps is like them looking in a mirror and describing themselves. Crazy!
This situation is batshit crazy. Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent detained by ICE
Notice the headline doesn't say WHY he's being detained. Must be bad guys ICE, right?
Only when you get past the headline and byline do you get some real information:
"The press release states that Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents detained Dr. Ian Roberts Friday morning for being in the country illegally and in the possession of a loaded handgun. Federal law does prohibit those in the country illegally from possessing weapons."
Federal law prohibits illegals from possessing weapons? I thought federal law prohibited illegals from being here at all!
"The DHS says after officers identified themselves to Roberts, he fled the scene in his vehicle. The vehicle was later found abandoned near a wooded area. State Patrol helped locate Roberts and he was taken into ICE custody." "At the time, he had a loaded handgun, three thousand dollars in cash, and a hunting knife."
Sounds like a good example to be leading the schools
.So what do the unions think of this? They defend him saying the problem is ICE is creating fear!
“We were shocked to hear of Dr. Ian Roberts’s detainment by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents early this morning. Since being hired as superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools, we have known Dr. Roberts to be a tremendous advocate for students, families, staff, and the community. His leadership and compassion for all students, regardless of background, identity, or family origin, are a beacon of light in one of the state’s most diverse school districts.
It is a dark and unsettling time in our country. This incident has created tremendous fear for DMPS students, families, and staff. We call on the community to come together and support each other."
And for the closer, enforcing the law is an attack on freedom:
In a statement, Progress Iowa Executive Director and DMPS parent Mazie Stilwell said “these attacks on our freedoms” should be stopped.
“No Iowan is safe. It is time for them to finally stand up for us and stop these attacks on our freedoms and our communities,” said Stilwell. “Every Iowan should call their legislators and ask why Iowans are being detained, and what they are doing to protect us.”
In a way they're right, enforcing the law is an attack on the freedoms of murders, rapists, arsonists, and ..... illegals.

What I'm even more enraged about is how the left is downplaying his illegalness, boasting what a great example he is to the kids, and claiming this shows that even citizens will be rounded up by ICE.

How are they able to get around SSA reporting and State income reporting? I'm really curious to know who enabled him and how and charges should be brought against those people who knew what they were doing.

I live "within spittin distance" of Southport, been there many times, usually eat at The Provision Company in that same complex of restaurants on the water. Late last night randomly saw a live youtube independent news channel talking about the shooting, many people in the live comment section were already identifying the shooter by NAME before he was detained... pretty damn strange. Also somebody implied that it was a private party last night at the restaurant/bar, nothing "official" on that...

Radio host and CNN commentator Scott Jennings on "The Scott Jennings Show" told critics of the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey to "choke on it" for their outrage.
"For all of you who ever said, no one is above the law, or said that institutions of justice are sacred and cannot be questioned, or described Donald Trump as a 34 felon, you know what I say? Choke on it. Just choke on it," Jennings said.
SCOTT JENNINGS: As for the reaction to all of this, the weeping and gnashing of teeth from the no one is above the law crowd could be heard around the world last night. If you've looked at any news sources today, you've heard the word unprecedented thrown around endlessly, which tells me that apparently nobody knows what the definition of that word actually is. But please spare me the outrage over political prosecutions.
For all of you who ever said, no one is above the law, or said that institutions of justice are sacred and cannot be questioned, or described Donald Trump as a 34 felon, you know what I say? Choke on it. Just choke on it.
Honestly, if you cheered the political prosecutions of Donald Trump on cases that were clearly novel and made up just for him, just for politics, choke on it. If you are lamenting today, whoa, this was five years ago, and yet you cheered on the criminalization of a liaison Trump had in 2006, choke on it. If you're whining about the use of process to punish people, but you cheered the use of process to cripple Trump, the candidate, Trump, the president, and his people, choke on it.
