Replying to myself to add that the Dems passed Obamacare using legislative "shenanigans" involving creating a house bill to utilize a budgetary reconciliation process to pass the bill even though, the voters did not want it.
Watch 'em squeal whenever the other side talks of reconciliation to pass the SAVE act. The Dems will pretend that THEY wouldn't ever do that!

I recall Pelosi's "...we have to pass it so we can read what's in it" or the like...

The subsidies for ACA policyholders (written-in refund in order to pretend the real cost was low) were written solely by Dems and were written to END (sunset) last year. It was a common trick used to hide the true costs of premiums. It was written and voted in SOLELY by Dems and only Dems can be blamed for the end of the subsidies. T

I think the common "extend the subsidies" solution would make the overall problem worse. Sure, on an individual level, it sounds great and makes for convincing bleeding heart stories. For the overall big picture, it will just make a poorly designed, corrupt system worse, eventually biting those it helps up-front even harder than they're getting bit now. The solution isn't to throw more money at it, which will eventually flow to big pharma and the layers of useless make-work administrators. The solution is to fix the lousy damn system that the dems stuck us with. Of course, congress isn't capable of doing that, maybe not even motivated, but that's a different subject.

This forum I recall as having a lively conversation about politics.
Now, it appears to be purely a curated TDS X-feed.
An interesting change, clearly has some merit. As I'm not retired to a Lazy-boy with a LAN perma-linked to the twitter-pulse, I've not the time nor inclination to meme-war. I'll look in once in a while to check on the place. If the monopolized monotone drone should give way to conversation someday, I'll take another look.

Three days after Trump was sworn into office, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) introduced H.J.Res. 29. The resolution proposes amending the 22nd Amendment to allow a person to be elected president up to three times under certain circumstances.

It would need approval by a two-thirds majority in both the House of Representatives (290 votes if all members vote) and the Senate (67 votes if all senators vote). Even then, it would still have to be ratified by 38 of the 50 states. Regardless of whether the proposal advances, I think it's important to be aware of and transparent about efforts by elected officials to propose changes to constitutional term limits.
