Today's Oregon Follies.....
" The bill, which journalists and the state’s government ethics chief warned could lead to secret meetings of local governments, got unanimous support from the House Rules Committee."
We know it's screwed up. We'll come back and fix it. Trust us.
(The last time I remember hearing that was when the covid stimulus payments caused Oregon state personal income tax to increase. The lawmakers faked outrage and promised to fix it immediately. Then it quietly slipped away with no fix).
And in Portland.....
"During Thursday’s 2 p.m. City Council meeting, council members will consider the LGBTQIA2S+ Protections Package"
"The resolution also recognizes that individuals have the right to seek, obtain or provide gender-affirming care that is legal in Oregon, no matter where the individual is from.
The resolution also declares that the City of Portland will not use any resources to support transgender criminalization efforts from other jurisdictions.
...the ordinance would amend the city code to say, “all person may access the public restrooms consistent with their expressed gender.” "

The funny thing is that all along Lutnik has been promoting the idea that it's darn near a lock that the SCOTUS would not go against Trump regarding his tariff methodology.
The ruling is not a complete shutdown of Trump tariffs. Going forward Trump will have to be more specific on identifying how specifically targeted tariffs are a national security issue. More work and more specificity.
Trump has lost the tariff battle but not the tariff war
