Transportation into Venezuela had been stymied over the past month amid a buildup of U.S. forces in the region that culminated with the capture and arrest of Nicolas Maduro and his wife on Saturday.

An oil tanker chartered by Chevron carrying some 300,000 barrels of Venezuelan heavy crude bound for the U.S. Gulf Coast departed on Monday from the OPEC country's waters, shipping data showed. The company had not exported any cargoes since January 1.

Chevron did not immediately respond to a request for comment. On Sunday, the company said it remained focused on the safety and wellbeing of employees, as well as asset integrity. "We continue to operate in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations," Chevron said.

I get a bit irritated with people claiming "We're TAKING the oil." bullshit. We very well may be BUYING the oil, which will benefit everyone in Venezuela. We also may very well CONTROL where that oil can go--- Russia, Iran, China can go fuck themselves-- OR they can get with the program. The context here is that this IS "America First" and a message that you are not going to act against America's interests right in our own backyard.

Remains to be seen.

Trump clearly said on live tv multiple times that we’re “taking” it.

I’m sure there will be a lot of hand wringing as to the specific language used in the coming months, and it could of course turn out to be yet another lie like $5000 DOGE checks, draining the swamp, no income tax, and countless others.

There are also at least 2 other assets that may or may not be “appropriated”. Gold and Bitcoin reserves.

We have all but declared Greenland to be a US territory and we have declared probable regime changing operations in at least 3-4 other countries.

As far as the whole backyard stuff, we just sent god knows how many more $Billons in military stuff to Taiwan the other day.

The old global view of the world just changed abruptly. It’s being divided into 3-4 spheres of influence. The game has fundamentally changed for better or worse. Raw power has replaced diplomacy or any illusion of peaceful settling of disputes. Gaza was the warning shot, and we now live in a much more dangerous world.

But hey, as long as I can increase my pile following Dear Leaders moves, I’m good. ;)

I am sure Russia and China would have nuclear submarines in the vicinity. Russia due to historical/military ties and China to belt and road investments/debt in Venezuela and their oil tankers. Don't think US would be willing to seize a Chinese tanker because thats a major escalation with another super power.

In the end do we give two shits about Venezuelans celebrating or protesting the capture of Maduro? Continously posting about it indicates that some need validation about this. The rest of the world (it seems) would like to condemn the action with their hypocritical snobbery but they themselves seem to rarely give two shits about the plight of these very countries that Trump has interdicted in. Fuck the Euro trash and Euro trash wannabes. This is how sausage is made. Now go enjoy your sausage.

The reality is that there is no level of appeasing the rest of the world unless you just rollover and be their bitch. Obama tried bowing down to everyone and anyone and you can see where that got us. The only way to appease them is to allow the grift but then they become resentful and demand more....never satisfied. US corporations developed their oil industry for profit and they ended up being one of the wealthiest countries in the world until they fucked it up. Don't care what the worldwide TDS protesters are beotching about. They hate us 'cause they ain't us. Embrace the hate.
