US Elections (& Politics) :)

Hypocrisy is becoming the key tenet of MAGA

Rand Paul .. one of the few in the game who seems to have more integrity

Well, Donald is the King! Right up there with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., Abe Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan. :thumb:

Trump is building a ‘smart wall’ on border. Here’s what that means

Unlike in his first term, the second Trump administration has a significant head start on building and should have no problem finishing the project by 2029.

But there is one technical difference: This time around, the project is called a “smart wall.” Although technology was utilized in the border barrier system during Trump’s first term, it plays an even larger role in safeguarding the country now.

In fact, every one of the 1,954 miles of the border with Mexico will have a “smart wall,” allowing the White House to carry out what it first set out to accomplish nearly a decade ago...

...This time around, Republicans tucked $46.5 billion for the project into the One Big Beautiful Bill, which Congress passed in late spring and Trump signed on July 4.

Over 1,400 miles of the entire southern border will have a physical barrier to deter people from crossing by the time the current and future projects are completed.

The remaining 535 miles are not viewed by planners as ideal for building a wall or are considered low-risk areas for illegal crossings. However, the 535 miles will be provided with detection technology.

In addition, CBP is installing 550 miles of technology in parts of the border that have a physical barrier but lack sensors in the ground, cameras, and other technology.

'He’s micro-managing phenomenally': How Trump grabbed all the levers in Washington

The president's one-man-show approach to policy has sidelined Congress, agencies — and a whole K Street culture.

Intel Corp. looked like a winner in the Washington lobbying game at the start of 2025.

The federal government was set to funnel more than $10 billion to the American microchip giant, thanks to a long influence campaign by the company’s executives and hired Washington hands, who spent three painstaking years lobbying Congress, federal agencies and White House advisers.

Just a few months later, when a political controversy over the CEO’s links to Chinese companies put Intel’s deal with Washington in jeopardy, the whole drama was resolved in two weeks. And this time, the company’s path ran through just one person: President Donald Trump.

The sharp change in how Intel navigated Washington is being replicated across industries in Trump’s second term — by pharmaceutical companies cutting drug pricing deals with the White House, tech giants hoping to sell regulated equipment to China and energy firms that want looser environmental and permitting restrictions.

After decades of revolving-door culture, Washington is grappling with a new normal for how influence works in the capital. POLITICO spoke with several dozen lobbyists, industry officials and public relations professionals who revealed a transformation far more disruptive than the typical churn that comes with a new administration.

In Trump 2.0, American policy influence has shifted from its previous channels — agency officials, top lawmakers and staffers on key congressional committees — to a new reality where change comes suddenly from the top.

The president and a handful of lieutenants have seized full control over policies once considered the remit of Congress and experts at agencies, including hyperspecific issues like tariff rates, high-skilled visa fees and funding freezes. Trump’s gravitational pull has forced CEOs to act as their companies’ top lobbyists, plying the president with gifts...

Trump is forced to board Air Force One via small stairs due 'increased security measures' after suspicious structure was discovered near airport
President Donald Trump was forced to board Air Force One on Sunday via the small stairs due to heightened security measures after a suspicious hunting stand was discovered nearby.

Trump left Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday to return to Washington D.C., after the suspicious structure was discovered on Friday.

A White House official said the discovery led to the implementation of heightened security measures on Sunday as Trump returned to the airport.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the 'elevated hunting stand' was 'within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone.

'The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities.'

The stand has not been tied to any individual.

It was found perched in a tree near where Trump usually exits the presidential jet. There was no ammunition found nearby, and the finding was described as an odd collection of pipes.

A hunting stand was discovered near the airport Trump uses to fly into Florida. It had a direct line of sight to Air Force One, officials said
The Secret Service was 'working closely' with the FBI as well as law enforcement in Palm Beach County.

Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi also told Fox that 'there was no impact to any movements and no individuals were present or involved at the location.'

'While we are not able to provide details about the specific items or their intent, this incident underscores the importance of our layered security measures,' Guglielmi also stated.

The discovery came less than a month after Ryan Routh was found guilty on...

There are two problems

1- Most of them are simply telling him what he wants to hear. Much of it will not happen. The Faux News headlines are awesome, the reality isnt quite the same
2- By doing everything by Royal Decree, (EO's) almost all of it can be changed by a future President by stroke of a pen

Man he really doesn’t want those Epstein files to become public.

Zohran Mamdani hits Andrew Cuomo for failing to visit enough mosques. What has happened in America that now this is a line of attack against political candidates?
