‘Hamas is killing hundreds’: Head of Khan Younis militia pleads for international community to protect Gazans against Hamas executions

Hossam al-Astal, a militia leader operating with Israeli support in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza, demands that the world protect Gaza’s residents from Hamas’s terror, amid a wave of executions and killings carried out by the terror group.

In a video obtained by The Times of Israel, al-Astal thanks US President Trump for his efforts toward the ceasefire, but adds that after saving Gazans from Israeli bombardment, the president should now save them from Hamas.

“Hamas is killing hundreds of children, women, youths and elderly people. Under what charge? We came out of a military war into a war of terrorists,” he declares. “Today, Hamas is waging terror against the people in Gaza, killing with RPGs. Hamas is 100% ISIS,” he says, calling on the international community to protect Gaza’s residents from Hamas.

Adding “a message to the people in Gaza and to the whole world,” al-Astal says his militia is not “seeking to rule Gaza or gain influence.”

“We want to move the people from Hamas’s rule to civilian rule that will serve the residents. We want peace and we want to live. We are not fighting Hamas today in order to rule,” he insists.

In a conversation with The Times of Israel after the video was recorded, al-Astal stresses that his group is continuing to fight Hamas.

MASSIVE Retail Theft: The Unspoken Cause of High Prices and Economic Harm

There’s more than one reason for the high prices hurting average Americans. But one of them is seldom discussed: the massive retail theft now plaguing our country. How serious is it?

The total annual 2022 losses (e.g., including security and insurance) associated with criminality amounted to approximately $112.1 billion. Theft alone was 65 percent of this “shrinkage,” totaling a $72.9 billion loss. Of course, good citizens are supporting these criminals, too.

In fact, theft cost the average family more than $400 in 2022.

This isn’t distributed equally, though. Families in high-crime areas — i.e., people generally poorer to begin with — bear a greater cost, perhaps $600 to $800.

Citizens should ponder this the next time they contemplate supporting soft-on-crime politicians, whose inaction enables retail theft.

What’s more, theft causes many stores in high-crime areas to shut down completely. This reduces local market competition, allowing prices to rise further. Think about this when NYC Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani talks about creating city-run grocery stores or Michelle Obama complains of “food deserts.” (Inner-city residents, who may not have cars, may have to travel significant distances to a supermarket.) The real problem is law-and-order deserts — caused by the virtue deserts found in dishonest politicians’ hearts.

Stores Shuttering

In fairness, there are multiple reasons why brick-and-mortar establishments have been closing in recent years. Among them are e-commerce competition, high operating costs, consumer preference for online shopping, store over-expansion, and supply chain disruptions. But retail theft can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Apropos here is a forecast from Coresight Research, a leading retail analytics firm. It holds that approximately 15,000 U.S. retail stores are expected to close in 2025. This means a net loss of about 9,200 stores after accounting for approximately 5,800 planned openings.

Depends on who you believe and their motivation. It’s hard now as ANY negative content towards Israel is being heavily censored.

They don’t want any witnesses

Walmart boss says Trump's tariff gamble is paying off... and soon all Americans will benefit

President Donald Trump's tariffs are working.

Walmart's CEO John Furner has confirmed that the company is increasing its investments in US-made products and suppliers.

The retail giant is not the only major American company paying more attention to US manufacturing.

Now that Trump has placed tariffs on most countries outside the US, with particularly high fees on imports from China and India, corporate America has been forced to search closer to home for alternatives.

Furner said at CNBC's Invest in America Forum that Walmart's investment in products generated on US turf is part of the company's long-standing strategic priority.

'Investing in US manufacturing and US operations, sure, it's great for business, but it's also great for employment. It's great for jobs. It's great for the country, and it helps us with our supply chain being flexible and dynamic,' Furner said.

Furner claimed that almost two-thirds of Walmart's inventory are made, grown, or assembled in the US — and the superstore is determined to grow that number.

Whirlpool CEO Says Trump’s Tariffs Have Created a “Level Playing Field”, Helped Spur Company’s $300 Million Expansion

Whirlpool CEO Marc Bitzer said President Donald Trump’s tariff policies have created a “level playing field” for expanding U.S. manufacturing and incentivizing companies to invest in domestic production.

“What the tariff policy does [is] it makes a business case, an economic business case, just much more attractive,” Bitzer told Fox News in an Oct. 15 interview.

His remarks came as Whirlpool announced a $300 million investment in its U.S. laundry manufacturing facilities, a move the company described as “one in a series of strategic commitments to grow its American manufacturing footprint.”

Bitzer told Fox News that without Trump’s tariff measures, the company might have reduced, delayed, or possibly reconsidered the investment. But now, he said, Whirlpool views the policy landscape as stable enough to justify long-term commitments.

U.S. budget deficit edged lower in 2025 as tariffs, debt payments both saw new records

The U.S. budget deficit edged lower for 2025 as record-setting tariff collections helped offset what also were unprecedented numbers for payments on the spiraling national debt, the Treasury Department announced Thursday.

In a year marked by a bruising trade war and high financing costs, the federal government managed to escape with a $1.78 trillion shortfall, some $41 billion, or 2.2%, less than in fiscal 2024.

While that’s still on the high end historically, the red ink would have been still worse had it not been for a massive surge in customs duties and a September surplus of $198 billion that also set a record for the month.

President Donald Trump’s tariffs were a major contributor to tariff collections of $202 billion for the year, representing a 142% surge from 2024. September saw $30 billion in tariff payments, up 295% from the same period a year ago.

Oil Prices Drop to the Lowest Level in Nearly Five Years

A growing glut of oil and fear of a global economic slowdown have pushed U.S. crude prices to their lowest point since fuel markets were rebounding from the Covid crash.

Most actively traded U.S. oil futures ended Thursday at $56.99 a barrel, down 2.2% on the day and 19% from a year ago. That marked the lowest price since February 2021. Declines this week bring prices below the depths of the spring selloff when President Trump unleashed a barrage of tariffs and sparked worries of economic turmoil.

The decline is good news for American consumers because cheaper crude portends lower prices for gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and heating oil. But it is an alarming situation for a U.S. oil industry already beset by narrowing profit margins and shedding jobs by the thousands...

US Reports Biggest Ever Budget Surplus For Month Of September Thanks To Record Tariffs

.....The bad news is that the impressive September numbers were largely a calendar effect with much of the outlays delayed until next month, which means October's numbers will be that much uglier. And worse, the exponential increase in total US debt which will surpass $38 trillion in 2 days and $40 trillion in under a year...

Kind of makes you wonder what else they'll want to know what you are up to on the internet. Maybe check what social or political forums you are going to.

law makers really are either useful idiots or truly evil and think Americans are idiots

"It is not yet clear how lawmakers plan to implement this VPN blocking requirement, nor how websites displaying adult-only content could practically restrict only the VPN traffic coming from Wisconsin's users.

As per how virtual private networks (VPNs) work, in fact, websites can only see users' spoofed IP addresses and not their real locations. This means that even if adult sites were to detect VPN traffic, it may be virtually impossible to determine where the person is really connected from."
