Ukraine related: Was Ukraine Government Is Handing Out Guns To Citizens, What Happened to Gun Control?

Ukraine is working on new laws to tighten control again. So, gun control was relaxed during the conflict but is now being restored.

Rumor mill - Trump's 50 day deadline is because he and many others believe Ukraine will collapse by then. And US working to have Zelenskyy removed from office that that Ukrainians can vote on a leader.

That's the problem with people who continue to agree with you but don't do anything about it. It's fine to start of with a good will gesture of "trusting" someone will do what they say. But eventually, you have to tie in penalties if they fail to follow through. I think we have all encountered people in our lives that flat out lie to your face continuously insisting they will do what they said they would. I don't know if Trump gave Putin every opportunity and now he's set that "50 day deadline" because he's finally had enough of Putin's lies. Reagan used the phrase "trust but verify" and I think we all know why.

And to be clear, Ukraine hasn't exactly been good to the USA. Deceitful fraud, self enrichment and grifting seems to be how that relationship has gone. Of course USA "guarantees" to Ukraine if they gave up their nukes haven't exactly panned out well. The US gubermint doesn't exactly have a good track record of keeping their promises while taking on new obligations they have no business taking on in the first place.

I'm not sure that's exactly true in Ukraine's case. I think there's been a lot of MAGA propoganda relating to Ukraine from when Trump didn't want to fund them. Certainly some weapons have been sold on to hostile countries, which is why I personally said at the very start, no Western country should send them the latest weapons or even weapons that could significantly advance our enemies capabilities eg. Javelin. Capture is the other way of losing tech. Certainly, there's been some fraud in Government - lets not forget here we're dealing with a former Soviet country and Soviet Government was traditionally run on fraud and bribery from all reports, so nothing unexpected there. However, I don't think the attacks on Zelensky personally were reflective of the situation nor was the fraud as widespread as made out. Has Zelensky made mistakes? Sure, hes a comedian not a politician and is desperate hence his recent alleged corruption tolerance law. Would the West tolerate these mistakes in Government? Probably not. There's been a lot of propoganda out there to turn the American people away from supporting UIkraine because Trump simply being a business man didn't see the economic advantage to supporting them. I think only now Trump is realising he can't have his way with Putin. Trumps been carrying out politics like a businessman based on trust, when in reality politics are very different to business, and as I often said, losing Ukraine to Russia means losing Europe to Russia which in turn then poses a direct threat to the US. The cost of liberating or defending the whole of Europe is far costlier than winning the war in Ukraine. Trump needs to be taking a far more global view on Ukraine than he has traditionally and realise the implications. The loss of Europe means the loss of all Eastern listening and intelligence posts, radars, forward militray bases, allies etc. and the staging of hostile forces and missiles closer to the US with control of far more of the shipping lanes and sea realtive to the US as well. It's far costlier than a small war in a relatively obscure former Soviet country.

Russia is out of armored vehicles?

The little con man drug addict is close to being replaced, or disappearing

Personally, I hope Ukraine can pull this off and remain intact while I hope that Russia is left in ruins for their misguided Special Military Operation. I doubt that will happen but I can hope. I don't believe for a moment Zelenskyy is betraying his people but rather his people are tired and broke and just want to get on with their lives. Recall that only 10% of American actively fought the British and only 35-40% of American supported the American Revolution. I would not say that Washington and Congress betrayed the American people. How many Frenchies might accuse the Americans of a grift of their people and treasure during that struggle?

The US and NATO started it in 2014, Ukraine was bombing their own citizens in the Donbas before Russia came in.

Best out come for Ukraine is to take the deal on the table and stop the killing.

US for now seems correctly out of it, EU talks big but doesnt have a set of balls between them (or the money), so major direct help doesnt look likely

Iran is just friends of convenience to Russia. The last thing they want his another nuclear armed country in their backyard.

Also Israel/Jew lobby in Russia is still very strong.
Putin last month said that the reason they cannot give offensive weapons to Iran is because Israel still has a lot of former Soviet and Russian citizens.

Iran wanted the SU35 fighter planes, air defense systems but even after years of trying to acquire them. Russia has intentionally not supplied them. In fact brand spanking new SU35 export versions which where originally meant for Egypt that Iranians seeked, have been parked in the manufacturing plant air field for over 4 years. Egypt stopped their purchase after threat of US sanctions, while the Trump 1st administration pushed for F15 sale they eventually bought jets from France.

In 2022 when Ukraine capital Kiev was nearly surrounded. The first negotiators from Ukraine who met the Russians in Turkey for a potential peace deal, where shot dead point blank in front of cameras by Ukraine Azov commanders which is a Nazi battalion. They called the negotiating team as traitors.

If Zelensky accepts the peace deal he will either be killed again by them or by some family member whose son, father, husband where forcefully conscripted and KIA.

We already see videos in Ukraine of ordinary people killing military men who where tasked with job of forcefully conscripting.
