I'm setting up some new Dahua 5442 cameras - they are a revelation after using some cheap Longse cameras for the last few years 
For now, I have BI motion detection setup to record object rectangles while I tune in the new cameras. (Direct to disk BVR, no substreams yet.)
BI works as expected:
But there's an interesting quirk using UI3:

- live view shows the motion detection rectangles when motion is detected
- playback of recorded clips shows the motion detection rectangles if I select "Add motion overlays from direct-to-disc BVR"
But there's an interesting quirk using UI3:
- live view shows the motion detection rectangles
- the clip fast forward preview (hovering the mouse over a clip in the clip list) shows some of the motion detection rectangles
- but playing the same clip full size does not show the motion detection rectangles at all
