Hi. I have an ANNKE I51EH*2 camera and a ANNKE AU-DW81KN000-OP DVR box which turned up today.

So, if you're familiar with these products, you understand the issue I'm having. I want to eventually link up more cameras to the DVR. Can that be achieved with an internet switch?

You can connect up to 8 ANALOG cameras and 2 IP cameras with the DVR.

That NVR would only allow 2 cameras connected to that 24 port switch, but only if you provide power to those two cameras as that switch doesn't appear to be POE.

The cost to buy a converter to make analog cameras IP cameras would be more than just buying new IP cameras LOL.

Really? The exact same switch managed to power a Reolink camera with the switch, there. The cable sent to the router and with the necessary configuring with the app, I managed it okay.

And, I don't think the ANNKE cameras I have in my possession are analog. The ones I have are the exact same as in the image, (below). As referenced above, ANNKE I51EH*2.

These are the ones I have.

I was thinking, maybe I connect these to the switch and then a cable to the DVR? Would it work that way?

Ok, just looked up the Netgear switch and it is POE. I simply didn't see it say POE anywhere on the faceplate image you sent.

According to the specs of the DVR, you can bring 2 IP cameras into it and that is it. I would be shocked if the hardware would accept more than what it is rated for. I guess you will find out.

I have returned the DVR and decided to go another route. According to Google, I can connect these devices to a PC which will act as an DVR. The manufacturer app is available to download. :D

I plan on connecting these cameras to the POE switch (above) and wire it to the tower PC with i3 8th gen processor, running on Windows 11.

My being woefully unfamiliar with this brand, what would you or anyone else recommend I should do to take full advantage of this proposed setup? Going forward...

You do not want to use the manufacturer app/program. It is slow and sucks.

Try Blue Iris instead. It has a 15 day demo so try it to the manufacturer app and decide for yourself.

Oh no! :( That's not what I wanted to hear. Alright. I'll trial BI and see how it goes. May as well at this point.
