Tried to update my Hikvision DS-2DF8C842IXS-AELW firmware and I got file is unverified when trying to install it

I have trying for months to get the camera to auto track again and when I saw the new firmware came out i thought I had it licked but I get that error, any ideas?

I have this firmware V5.5.801 build 210628 and the new one listed is Firmware_V5.8.7_250225

I would love to get this one to autotrack again

I think you know this already... that newer firmware is for a T5 revision camera... your model is probably an older revision... the now old .801 revision was an unplanned release to address the "command injection vulnerability", otherwise the firmware for your camera would be even older....


These days the best thing to do is enter the camera's serial number at the Hik-Partner Pro site to confirm the latest firmware version:

Strange result... current by S/N is older .800 version with a newer release date?
