Unreal!

I hit the the wrong button, I supposed to hit the gate button but I hit the garage, it just so happened my front wheel had already cleared the sensors so it kept coming

Thankfully I was able to just get the bottom panel replaced, a $650 mistake! Company came out and fixed the same day, so at least t was fast! Now I need to clean the rest of the door

Been there, done that. I forgot I had to unhook the door and raise it all the way up to get the back hoe in.
I tore the bottom panel into a U shape. I took it off straightened it enough to block the opening until I got to town to get a replacement.

I got the "I'm a garage door dumbass" tee shirt as well, about 2 months ago but I elected to barely scratch the door and do more damage to my wife's Fusion.

Got in the car, pushed the button, started the car, looked in the backup camera, saw an open driveway, put her in reverse and began backing out. The problem? The door stopped before going all the way up.....I'm thinking I must have accidentally pressed the button again which WILL stop the door.

The damage to the car? Busted the high, 3rd brakelight LED above the rear window and raked the satellite radio/GPS "sharkfin" antenna off the roof.....cool move.

My late wife, bless her heart, was leaving one morning and had our infant daughter with her. Her car was in the garage, door open, running with our daughter in the back. My wife, meaning well, decided to lower the garage door a few feet "to make it harder for someone to take the car with our daughter in it" while she ran back in the house to grab something. As expected, when she came back out she forgot the had been lowered the door and backed into it. Fortunately the damage was minimal and we didn't need to get it fixed, but I just had to shake my head when she called.

If I can find the video, I'll post it.

I was standing by at another volunteer fire department's station, sitting in the driveway with our rescue when their rescue came back. The driver proceeded to open the door and show how "cool" he was by swinging in and backing quickly. Well... He didn't wait for the door to go up, and nailed the bottom 1/3 of the door. It took all I could to not laugh... He stormed out of the cab yelling, "Fuck! Fuck! FUCK!!!!!"

At least you didn't do this LOL

Poor classic Mustang! Looks like the driver's side door got pushed backwards, probably boogered that fender, too.

Not quite the same thing, when we went shopping, came back and the door wouldn't raise I found out a spring had broken, luckily while the door was down. My garage cam doesn't have sound so I checked the driveway cam which is on the outside of the wall - the spring broke as we were leaving, sounds like a shotgun and we never heard it.

A few months ago, I put some things in the back hatch of the little Mazda CX-30 I bought for my daughter. Several days before, I went out of my way to show HER the height of some of the door hardware, and that if she closed the garage door while the back hatch was up, a metal bar would likely go right through that back glass of the hatch. Well, I was done loading things in the little SUV, and I had the garage door open, and it's time to go, SO I GOT IN AND STARTED BACKING OUT WITH THE BACK HATCH DOOR STILL OPEN. I jammed the edge of the license-plate area of the hatch against the door frame and QUICKLY stopped. Of course, I was going very slow backing out of the garage, but the sudden jolt scared the shit outa me. I was happy I did not hear the sound of breaking glass, and the only damage was to the "seal" trim strip along the top frame. There was cussing, and relief, then self-cussing, and back to relief. It was emotionally confusing...but educational.

I'll take "Things I'll Never do Again for $1,000 Alex!"

My daughter is 46 now but I recall like it was last week when I told her emphatically about the way to NOT do something.....then turned around a week later and did it myself by accident ....right in front of her so there was no hiding it!

P.S. - the "accident" part was doing it where she could see me.
