Hi everyone! I'm a security systems professional from Türkiye with years of experience in casino surveillance, CCTV, IP cameras, networking, and access control. I've worked with security system installations, operations, and troubleshooting, and I'm now developing AI-powered software for the physical security industry.

Feel free to ask me anything about VMS platforms, CCTV systems, IP cameras, or casino surveillance operations. I'll be happy to share my experience and learn from the community!

I'm also the developer of CCTVTOOLS, an Android app for CCTV and network diagnostics.

Can you give some fun examples of systems you've installed / maintained in the past?

Always find hearing about what others have come up with interesting.

One of the most challenging and interesting parts of my career has been setting up surveillance operations for nearly 10 large casinos.

My work went far beyond simply installing cameras. I was involved in building complete surveillance environments from the ground up, including systems with around 700 cameras per casino, camera control rooms, monitoring workstations, recording infrastructure, network connectivity, and the operational setup required to keep everything running reliably.

I also helped establish the human side of these operations, from organizing surveillance teams and recruiting personnel to setting up monitoring procedures and daily workflows. The goal was to create a fully functioning surveillance department, not just a room full of screens.

One thing you learn quickly in the casino business is that technical projects and business expectations don't always move at the same pace. An owner might say, "Let's open," even when parts of the operation are still unfinished. In that environment, you have to prioritize, solve problems quickly, and make critical systems operational under pressure.

Looking back, building these operations was a valuable experience because it combined large-scale CCTV infrastructure, networking, team management, and real-time operational problem-solving. A 700-camera installation is not just about connecting devices; it's about making hundreds of cameras, recording systems, staff, and procedures work together as one reliabl

It's a shame, I got all excited with his portfolio. I've also have a casino and wanted a couple of cameras. Only two though, not 700. His expertise would of been fantastic!

I really don't get the point of this sort of thing. It's not like there's any marketing links hidden in there, so why bother??

Oh wait a minute, just reread and saw the bit about the Android app :screwy:

Sometimes people can be quite prejudiced. I’ve worked on casino projects in Cyprus, Bulgaria, and even Suriname. Furthermore—for those who might understand the technical side—I’ve just finished developing software for casinos, specifically for camera room monitoring and reporting. I think you’re all a bit too fixated on artificial intelligence; feel free to ask me anything, and I’ll be happy to answer—take care, good people! :)

I also have another tool called CCTVTOOLS that might be useful to you. I’d be happy to help you try it out and show you what it can do. Hopefully, it can speak for itself and change any preconceived opinions. google play de cctvtools by nikotek :)

@nikotek
Casinos have black list of people that are banned from casinos, for many different reason.

How did you implement that in your casino?
What camera brand did you use and what is the name of the feature?

In terms of facial recognition, Avigilon,Axis and Dallmeier are arguably the best; however, artificial intelligence has advanced to such a degree that it is now possible to build systems using software that achieve 90% accuracy. If this is for a casino environment, Hikvision and Dahua have also begun to distinguish themselves—I would even recommend Trassir, a Russian-made solution that I’ve found quite impressive. Don’t just think in terms of "blacklists"; you should also implement "whitelists" to identify high-value customers—even those the marketing department might not be aware of—and trigger notifications accordingly. There is plenty of room to expand on these capabilities further.

You did not answer my question.

I suspect the real motive here is simply to promote the app, which was clearly created with the help of AI. At the very least, the app’s interface - with its typical AI-generated look - makes it obvious that it was built using AI.

To me, the posts here also sound as if an AI had a hand in them. Granted, this could be because a translation tool was used to convert text from Turkish to English; however, a developer with this kind of "career" should surely be able to speak and write English fluently, meaning they wouldn't need a translator at all.

But okay, it’s not for me to judge whether or not this should be considered spam. :)

IN ADDITION, USE YOUR TOP SOFTWARE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS TO WRITE A POWERFUL DoS SCRIPT. THIS WILL BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR 100% ETHICAL, WHITE-HAT, PUBLIC BENEFIT PURPOSES. ONCE YOU HAVE PERFECTED IT, TEST IT ON YOURSELF TO MAKE SURE ITS GOOD ENOUGH.

I don't want to slag off anybody's achievements in app-making, and I sympathize greatly with language barriers. When asking an AI tool to translate text, if you are not fluent in the target language, how are you supposed to check if it reads "normal", or "really AI"? It must be hard.

However, this forum is not for advertising, I do not believe. Although I am not a mod.

Finally, RE UI's... It is very fast to create an exceedingly "polished" (ahem) UI these days. However, this is a good example of the wrong sort of polish. Personally I find the UI on yon app very hard on the eyes, and it looks a bit like the UI equivalent of a stock photo.

By all means use whatever tools available to build UI's (I do all the time), but spend time refining them, instead of taking the first shot as good.

Just my thoughts. And there you go, I looked at your app :-).

I certainly have respect for the work of software developers, and I have no intention of calling that work into question across the board. However, I have been using Home Assistant for a long time and am active in several related forums. Nowadays, not a single day goes by without some user - who now fancies themselves a software developer thanks to AI - showing off and promoting their "amazing" new software creation. Many of these, in terms of their user interface, have that distinct "AI-generated" look - prioritizing a "stylish" and colorful aesthetic above all else. I’d estimate that 90% of these "hobbyist AI developers" have no real understanding of software development or everything it entails; as long as their software somehow manages to run, that’s all that matters to them.

To reiterate: I do respect the software that other users develop, but my impression is that quality is increasingly falling by the wayside.

"CCTVTOOLS" the application. No reviews so far. Has no clout for your credentials, sorry. It was launched on September 2026.
Rather strange, it's close to your original recent involvement to the forum.

I don’t regret doing it this way, given the impact it created here, folks. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to grab your attention! :) Thanks for all your comments.

Is there a surveillance manager among you? Or perhaps someone who knows a general manager at a casino? To be honest, my main goal wasn't really about "cctvtools."
