The official "WTF" thread

Likely methane gas at this TX campus. This is why we'd always run a sniffer down into the sump area of the pump stations located at freeway underpasses before we'd go down the ladder to perform maintenance. Also, we went in pairs, one guy stayed topside and the guy that went down below had a rope tied around his waist and was in constant radio contact. If 2 men were needed below, 3 men went to the station.....IOW, a man was always topside. Not only is methane flammable it displaces oxygen in confined spaces.
Camera/backpack boy would have never known what hit him if that manhole cover flew his direction.......

Well, just remember, we were watching sporting events less than 5 years ago, with cardboard cutout people for the crowd in the stands, with over dubbed audience cheers piped in to help bolster the sports players egos........so yeah, could very well be 100% fake, again.

Happens more often than you'd think. Most departments have SOPs that likely were ignored in this scenario; even if you have lights and sirens, and can go through an intersection against the red, you are responsible for doing so safely, which in my case means coming to a complete stop before proceeding through the intersection.

Hahaha, what did he say?
