HOA Threatens Member for Using Generator During Outage

A woman who lives in an HOA regulated neighborhood was told she could not use a generator during the recent power outage (in TN) because the HOA rules on aesthetics did not allow it. After some back-and-forth, the HOA said they'd allow it just this once.

I didn't want to start another thread and since I said "WTF" to myself when I saw this, I figured here was as good of a place as any, so here goes:
Remember in the early days of GPS, the kind you'd stick on your windshield with a suction cup, cops in some states would pull you over for that? Or some drivers got ticketed for a DVD player in the dash?
When we're already faced with distracted driving with kids, phones, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 12" dash displays, the 27" OLED dash display in the Genesis G70 by Hyundai redefines the term "distraction".......
