The official "WTF" thread

I've got a new "smart" tv and intend to never connect it to the Internet. What I discovered is that they send back to their mothership info on what you're watching, even if it's from an external device like a DVD player (they do this supposedly via screenshots). In return you receive targeted ads. I don't know if they send back audio and/or camera video from your room, but it wouldn't surprise me.

The Des Moines school superintendent saga gets more bizarre.

  • First it was discovered that he's in the country illegally.

But here's the real kicker:
"Following reports of inconsistencies in Roberts' education background, the Des Moines School Board said in an Oct. 1 statement that it was "also a victim of deception by Dr. Roberts.""

No, school board, the students and families in Des Moines were victims of your incompetence.

MIT and George Washington dispute Ian Roberts' claims about academic credentials, honors

Holy Spider senses !!
What would normally be a $1500 install of a ductless mini-split under normal circumstances is now probably over $3K because of the building architect's idiotic design....in China, who knows?

The building architect should be horse-whipped, IMO.

I was getting that same thing also no X previews too until Mike fixed my Login problem. Not sure the Login issue was related, maybe a Cloudflare problem? When I could not login I also could not create a new account.
