I was never a big supporter of the V22 Osprey....saw one crash..nope. Then again, I also watched two Harrier's crash as well. This THING looks like it was designed over 2 decades ago. WTF is the Army thinking? Not saying it is or isn't good, but really? Its going to replace what and do what?

I see V22 sometimes at my small local municipal airport. Very weird that they use the airport at all.

Look up Cross keys airport zip 08094.

This is a modern version of the V22. Shorter, has the capability of carrying drones, etc... plus the biggest/safest part of this update is only the rotors rotate instead of the whole engine like on the v22.

traffic stop, and the state trooper is greeted with this...

He took a round to his left arm, though apparently not a hit that stopped him from using his arm. This video is anxiety-inducing as he repeatedly calls for backup, and nobody is close enough to respond quickly....

Why didn't he grab his AR15 from the trunk when he went back there before pursuing on foot? Guy has some pretty big balls, I will give him that.

From the write up on YouTube, it took over 12 minutes for backup to arrive. They found the shooter in the woods with a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound.

12 minutes! That is a small eternity, and he had to be running low on ammo. I do appreciate the tax dollars saved via that self-inflicted gunshot. :)

The family just couldn't understand why he shot at the LE Officer.... He had been recently released from prison on a murder conviction. Hmmmm.

Saw an article the other day asking, Should AI be used to write Preacher's Sermons?

Guess, so much for getting the Divine Word from God anymore...

AI is currently and will be in the future a force to be reckoned with, IMO. It can be a great tool with far reaching benefits or a terrible tool that can cause unforseen damage, both depending on how it is deployed.

To disregard the latter of those two undeniable facts and be ignorant of its existence and importance is foolish. It concerns me.

Yep me too. I have turned off Google's Gemini and any AI on my phone. I don't need a machine thinking for me or making my decisions for me. What I found is most of AI is just fluff, a bunch of unnecessary words. When I do a search on any search engine I sometimes search again on another engine if I don't trust the answer. AI, IMO, is doing the same thing our colleges are doing, taking away our thinking skills. It does the research for us, this is very concerning to me too, we will have a future of Idiots who can't think for themselves and will except pretty much anything AI throws at them. You know, like today's Democracks...lol

Not that I am calling my son an Idiot :), but I remember when he got his first truck, he could not even get out of his subdivision without the GPS on his phone. We have alot of GPS addicts out there, I think it all started with the Calculator, LOL, society has went downhill ever since...

Oh, for sure...we've always had stupid people, most of their own making because they don't even attempt to learn...the old "ignorance is bliss", I guess.
But AI will allow the dumb to compete, it'll "level the playing field" in that the smart will get dumber (in reality) and the dumb will get smarter (in appearance)....turn off the AI (or the GPS in your son's case) and you discover where the person's true intellect lies. :(

I am surprised at how many people in MY generation cannot read a 2D, fold-up road map. My first wife could not, my current wife cannot. And neither could follow map directions....is it a gender thing? I don't know. But I think it's safe to safe these newer generations will someday not even recognize a paper map for what it is.....I know many can't follow ANY directions now....geographic or instructive!

Absolutely. We lived in Nigeria for five years. Most of the population there cannot read or write. But they have excellent memories. My wife would send our stewardess to get vegetables, no list, just tell her what she wanted. She always came back with everything that was asked for. Never wrote it down, could not read. We have lost that ability due to being able to read and make a list. We rely on the paper list instead of our brain. As stated above, GPS has taken away the ability to read maps and remember routes. I used to know every street name in our neighborhood when I was growing up. Now, not so much.

This relying on tech has dumbed us down. Bummer.
