T5442T-ZE replacement cable

So if a mouse chews through the cable going into a T5442, can it be easily replaced or am I having to buy a new camera?
 
Easy. No different than terminating your own cable. Lots of posts here on the order of the cable. Just buy a female connector and attach it correctly and off you go.

Buy what's known as "punchdown keystone jack" which is a female RJ-45 jack with IDC (Insulation Displacement Contacts), the wire is to be inserted with the proper punchdown tool (sometimes supplied so read details or look for a cheap one since you likely won't do them often enough to justify spending $10 to $40 for the impact version).

This non-impact tool comes with a handy stand to hold the keystone securely while you punch down the wiring.

BEFORE you go snipping wires use a continuity checker and a visual exam to write down the existing color code (which color of wire goes to what pin of the RJ-45).
