Hi

dahua DHI-NVR-4104HS-P-4KS2L NVR
dahua DH-IPC-HDw3849h-as-pv-s3 cameras

Is there any way to switch modes day and night according to sunrise and sunset with this set up

Just to be clear, i don't mean switch between color / b+w i mean the actual mode from day to night settings

For day, i have set presets , and different for night, but both set to full color, i don't like ir b+w

i have a lot of lighting around my home anyway so the sensor doesn't work as it should if i set auto

The only option I have is scheduling in the camera settings, but being in the UK it means having to adjust the times quite often to keep up with the change in sunrise to sunset from winter to summer

ive tried DahuaSunriseSunset app

ive tried Home Assistant with onvif and ChatGPT but that gets me nowhere

i cant use the Dahua HACS integration because im using windows HassWP_2025.1.4 and it wont log me into the nvr or cameras for some reason

Spent days on chatgbt with python scripts lol

I know BI can do this and i do have it but i use smartpss and dmss for viewing and use the nvr for motion detection etc and Blue Iris wont change the actual camera modes for viewing on other apps ? is that correct

any other options available?

Thanks

All settings are done in the camera, not the NVR, so yes if BI changes the profile of the camera, that is what the other apps would see.

The cameras and NVR do not have the ability to change day/night profile based on sunrise/sunset.

You would need to use a POE switch to connect all the cameras and NVR to and then use a 3rd party system like BI or HA or Frigate or something to change the camera profiles via API.

Great, i will try it, cameras are connected to tp TP-Link POE switch. Thanks

Yes, since you are connecting the cameras to the POE switch and then the NVR WAN/LAN to the POE switch (do not connect to POE port), you will likely have to add each camera individually to the NVR.

Sometimes they auto find, but usually not.

Sorry i mean the 4x camera are connected to the 4x poe ports and the nvr added to non poe port on the switch but the 4 cameras are already added to the nvr, my bi is on my desktop, ive not really used it for a few years, i mainly had it for when i had swann cctv but since moving home and getting dahua i only mainly use it for viewing on my desktop, my question was that my nvr ip is connected to bi thats what allows me to view all 4 cameras, shall i remove that and add the 4 camera ips seperate to be able to use bi schedule, sorry im a bit rusty with bi having not used it for a long time

OK - the NVR acts as a firewall of sorts, so BI is simply receiving the video feed of those 4 cameras thru the NVR, so you cannot send an API command from BI to the cameras as the NVR would block it.

You would need to pull those cams off the NVR and onto a switch so that BI can access the cams directly.
