Static or DHCP for IP cams?

With only 10-12 cameras and only 1/2 of those with LAN addresses, (the rest are on the NVR PoE switch) I typically assign a static LAN IP to the camera ON the camera in a range above .150

I’ve yet in 12+ years had a problem. Router reboots for whatever reason, cams keep their IP, the 6-10 other devices, some dhcp like my tv or alarm all typically get assigned IPs starting with .2 to about .10

I can then go back through the system and reassign static addresses as needed.
In fact you can likely export the existing reservation list, edit the values to be whatever the new subnets are, and import the revised list with MAC addresses all filled out to your new DHCP server so that everything you wanted to have a reservation will with minimum effort. :D
