Skycam rig finally pays off.

Some of you may remember my post about the last meteorite that fell and was only captured on potatoes.

Well, we had another one come down last night, and I got some pretty good captures this time.

I just received an email back from a local news channel, they're going to use the videos this evening.

Annnnd, they didn't use it. They used other, crappy captures instead. When they post the story to their website I will post it.

That's so strange of your local news channel showing like 3-4 different blurry versions and angle of the meteorite but decided to skip the best one and didn't bother to use your video. I wonder how they make that decision.

I'm late to this party-- I wonder if the non-conforming aspect ratio of the output video is why they didn't use it???

What a damn cool project! I have wanted something more for weather spotting.
This 25x ptz can rotate and point straight up... The smaller sensor wouldn't be the best for night sky stuff, though I have used my 6 year old ptz to zoom in on Jupiter...
