Yeah, leftists have been playing this bullshit for a while now. For some reason, they equate that you, as a person, being told to be charitable, means that you should be forced by law to pay more in taxes to support the spending that they want to see. That's not even remotely the same thing.
Leftists also wrap themselves up in characters like Robin Hood, and claim that they should 'steal from the rich to give to the poor.' They clearly weren't paying attention to the story-- Robin Hood stole from the King-- the government-- who over-taxed his people so they had nothing left.
