Security Camera Sensing In Very Dark Conditions

So I had some places that get really dark at night and didn’t like night vision on and all the bugs / stuff flying around would constantly be setting off the cameras
So I found somewhat of a solution
I use those little motion lights
When they sense motion they turn on and BI senses the light
Then if there is no repeated motion they turn off
If BI senses the lights and sees motion it triggers camera

Not sure if anyone else does this
Also wondering if someone does
Which lights do they use or what do the use if similar method

So your cameras at night just show a black screen unless the motion light kicks on?

Dont use Motion Detection, use the camera's built-in IVS. Bugs dont generally set it off using IR or white light

I know a bit about bugs and cameras

Not a single activation from either of these videos

I tried playing with that but couldn’t get settings figured out
Are you able maybe to forward your settings and I can copy paste em and see if it works and fine tune from there ?
Is there a thread about this ? I heard about it a while back but I couldn’t figure it out so ended up using the BI motion simple setting
It’s pretty good but when it rains it sucks and at night it sucks

I dont use BI so can't help, sorry. One of the BI guys will stop by.

But yeah, regular MD sucks, IVS is the only way to go

Ohhh your using direct camera IVS?
not gonna lie that’s pretty bomb how your getting all that shit flying and no alerts lol
That’s my biggest issue at night
So I leave night vision off and there is light around (street lights) but very dim
And when something or someone walks by it activates those little lights and cameras go into search mode looking to see if anyone there

Yep camera AI is a life saver.

BUT you really want to have night vision on (IR or white LED based on your camera) instead of relying on these motion detection lights - at that point you will lose precious seconds while the camera adjusts and then decides if it should trigger for the IVS rule. At that point, your method of BI motion is probably better.

Go into the camera GUI and set up smart plan with IVS, then go to the IVS screen and draw IVS rules (tripwire or intrusion box) and then select the AI you want it to trigger on (human or vehicle).

Make sure MD and SMD are turned OFF in the camera.

Then in BI, there are a few places you need to set this up in BI (assuming you already set up the IVS rules in the camera GUI):

In Camera configure setting check the box "Get ONVIF triggers".

Hit Find/Inspect on the camera setting to pull the coding for the triggers.

Go into Motion Setting and select the "Cameras digital input" box OR "ONVIF/CAMERA EVENTS" based on which BI version you have. Turn off BI Motion Detection if you don't want to use it:

On the Alerts tab uncheck the Motions Zones tab (those are alerting you to any BI motion in those areas in Zones A thru H) and select ONVIF and External check boxes.

On the "On alert..." actions, select how you want to be alerted (email, push, SMS, etc.)
