The safety commission says the doorbell battery can overheat if the incorrect screws are used for installation. That can pose fire and burn hazards.

I'm trying to imagine how this works...

Maybe it relies on the screws to heat sink into the surface its mounted to?

At the moment I think it has to do with using the wrong faceplate locking screw and if so, it can pierce the battery. If installed correctly, there's no problem.

LOL! It's pretty obvious which screw is the one to use. If someone 'screws' this up, seriously, you're not all that bright. Or, you're simply an asshole.

Sounds like the “recall” just consists of updated instructions. Presumably along the same lines as you can’t use a microwave to dry your dog!

Yep. It's the old wood screw though the battery problem. It will get you every time.

They screwed up the whole Ring concept...... And now they blame the screws for it..
