so for me its fairly simple, i only have 2 places i need BI to work
home / work

PC
i dont need to see home from work on PC
However I would like to see home and work BI on one pc at home, not sure how to attempt to do that, i tried opening BI again but it just opens same window, alternate question, am i able to use my work licence in 2 places at same time? or would i need 3 licences (one to view HOME BI @ HOME, ONE TO VIEW WORK BI @ WORk, ONE TO VIEW WORK BI @ HOME

MOBILE
am i able to view both home/work BI at same time (or at least pull alerts from both?), seems kind of silly that i can only connect to one server at a time,

You only need one Blue Iris license per Blue Iris server. Remote access is done through Blue Iris's built-in web server which allows unlimited remote access without additional licensing.

Your best bet for remote access to the WORK BI from home is to use the UI3 web interface which is free and comes built in to Blue Iris. If you have not already set up a way to achieve the network connection, then I recommend you use "Zerotier". Here is a video showing how it is done.

It sounds like you were trying to use the Blue Iris desktop app for remote access, which is technically possible, but it only lets you view one BI system at a time. There is currently no app that can effectively access more than one BI server at a time, but you can run as many instances of UI3 as you want in different browser windows.

[5.9.9.61] Remote management now allows for a local camera frame window when the UI is
connected to a remote server. There have been efficiency improvements as well to allow for
much quicker UI transition between servers.
[5.9.9.60] Remote management update to add desktop frame windows for connected
servers, allowing you to monitor multiple locations simultaneously via the desktop client.
Right-click on the Status/Remote list to find this option. Right-click in the desktop frame
to select a camera group and to enable audio. This will be updated to include status display
options as well.

Ok yeah the built-in remote management of multiple systems is pretty bad. It still takes way too long to get connected due to needing to transfer a huge block of clip/alert database info upon connection. The new desktop frame windows seem to be very limited in capabilities. It'll show me any camera group, but I can't maximize a single camera by clicking or double clicking on it. It doesn't provide an alert list or any of the other remote management interface. Just a live group view only. One of the systems I tried it with, the video feed in BI remote management was badly corrupted. UI3 is still much better unless you absolutely need a borderless group video window.

You need a port in there, such as:

Code:
http://xxxxxx:81/ui3.htm

The IP address is listed in BI. Gear Icon (top left) Then choose Web Server.

The IP address is listed under Local Internal (LAN) address. It will most likely be the same IP for the Remote External (WAN/Internet) address.

To use UI3 use the address as listed including the port, most likely 81.

Example: 192.168.1.157:81

I went home to try to login via UI3, and it does not load, is there anything i have to "activate"?
i tried checking in ZeroTier incase PC was asking for access, but nothing new there

By any chance did you use this YT video to set up ZT with BI?

Ok, there are several things that could be wrong.

Before anything else, go to Blue Iris web server settings and determine which port number it is listening on. I will assume it is port 81 because that is the default.

Then, do each of these things:

1. On the Blue Iris machine, open Windows Defender Firewall > Advanced settings. Create a new Inbound rule allowing TCP traffic on port 81 for all interface types (domain, private, public). Here are screenshots showing every page of the inbound rule wizard the way you need to configure them:

The name can be anything you want. I prefer to always name mine with the port and protocol they affect, something like this. By starting the name with a number, it will alphabetically sort to the top of the Inbound Rules list.

2. At my.zerotier.com, open the zerotier network you created and go to the "Members" section. Make sure all the machines you intended to connect to your zerotier network are shown in the Members section and have appropriate Name/Desc assigned. This should at least include your Blue Iris computer and whatever device(s) you want to view cameras with.

3. Make sure the members are "Authorized" to use the network (see Auth column). If they are not authorized, then authorize them.

4. Copy the "Managed IP" of the Blue Iris server, and use it to complete the URL http:// + Managed Ip + :81 and put it into the address bar. You will only be able to use this URL on devices that are connected to your zerotier network and are authorized there.

thank you i will try this when i get back

so the BI machine is already on my zerotier as i view it on my phone, so all that info is there and allowed

I did add the rule you stated to the BI machine

when i type in the URL http:// + Managed Ip + :81, nothing happens, and when i go to zerotier there is no other device asking for permission/auth or even attempting to connect

Is the device (the one you entered the URL on) listed in your Zerotier members section?

Try entering the same URL into a web browser on the Blue Iris machine. If it doesn't load there, then you are not constructing the URL correctly.

and when i go to zerotier there is no other device asking for permission/auth or even attempting to connect
Devices only appear in the Members list when Zerotier is installed on them and they are connected to your zerotier network. On a phone this will typically appear as some kind of VPN which you must connect manually when you want to use it. Then once a device is connected for the first time you must authorize it from the my.zerotier.com website. After they are authorized, they should be able to connect to other authorized members via the other member's "managed ip". It is not yet clear to me that you have connected two devices to your zerotier network.

yes the IP is listed of the BI machine i use on zerotier, as my phone connects to it to view the BI machine through the BI app
i am trying to enter the BI machine IP address to connect to it,

Ok, and we'll assume you got the windows firewall rule added correctly. So can you verify that your zerotier network shows more than one member?
