Every singl eday I get between 1 and 6 e-mails from AT&T's "Activermor" people about a security breach at a company, bank, health facility or educational institution due to a problem with "a contractor" or "sub-contractor".

It's not going well and it's going to get a lot worse, IMO.

Yep. The floodgates are open according to those who deal with this every day.
They say there's been nothing like it.

We're only seeing a tiny slice

I'm going to try, and hope others flow, to only post ones here with BIG companies and/or governments.

I thought you were not going to open a separate thread for each? I thought you said you were going to put them in one thread?

Two different threads

1- businesses and governments reporting hacks/intrusions primarily those with a big consumer base at risk THIS THREAD

2- the other one that is more for technical notifications ie. Big exploits and vulnerabilities (fewer folks will understand or care about those)

University Hospitals Cleveland

University Hospitals says some of its digital services remain offline Friday after disconnecting its systems from the internet in response to the detection of "unusual activity" on its servers.

In a statement, UH said it detected the activity on Thursday and activated its response protocols. The health system said it disconnected its systems from the internet “out of an abundance of caution.”

UH said there is currently no impact to patient care delivery, but some digital services are unavailable as the investigation continues.

“We are working around the clock to address the issue,” the statement said. “We anticipate digital service disruptions may continue for the next few days.”

UH's website currently says it is "experiencing difficulties and limited services are available at this time."

Among the impacted services is UH's MyChart.

"We are currently experiencing issues with MyChart, we apologize for any inconvenience, and we are working to restore access to MyChart as quickly as possible. If you need to contact your provider’s office regarding questions on results, appointment or other information please reach out to your provider’s office directly," a message on the site reads.

SONY

Oct 27, 2026 - Sony just confirmed a data breach hitting 2.6 million customers in Japan.
PS5 owners, don't panic: this is So-net in Japan, not PlayStation Network. PSN accounts aren't part of this.
