Purchased BI in Mid-March 2019, can't upgrade to new BI version

Subject pretty much says it all. I don't think I should have to pay full price for 4 months of use of the old version. Is there someone from IPCT or Blue Iris that can contact me to remedy this?

IPCT is not the developer of BI just a reseller.
You will have to pay for the upgrade. The developer generously provided free upgrades to users who purchased after April 1. That is better than most other software packages that will not provide free upgrades even if you buy the day before. You want it because you purchased it in March, the next guy wants it because he purchased a few weeks before you in February, the next guy wants it because he purchased a few weeks earlier in Jan. It doesn't work that way. The upgrade is 30/35 dollars. You will survive, i promise.

I wasn't trying to get snooty, it's just a pisser that I purchased a piece of software in March and it's replacement comes out 5 months later. BTW, I've read come of your responses in other posts to help get my system set up, and appreciate your feedback.

Someone is always on the back end. The software is cheap enough, a 1000 dollar phone before the new one drops is different:).

Or dropping the $1000 phone the day after you buy it, :D

So, with version 5, is it a yearly subscription thing now? <- I gotta say, I'm not a fan of this idea.
It is not a yearly subscription not sure why you think that way. It is explained on the website.

See the image below from the website. If I'm not mistaken, the /yr is a shortcut meaning "per year" and the last one says "1 yr. extension". By this logic, I assume that ALL of the options to upgrade are on a per year or 1 year "lease".

That is incorrect. That is for support the software will still work. It has been that way for version 4 as well.

Excellent, so with the knowledge of what I'm trying to do (upgrade to v5 from v4), should I choose the $29.95/yr or the $34.95? I've never used the email/phone support and don't need remote desktop support at all. I just like keeping my software up to date.

Depends if you want it to auto renew
