Progressive Liberal Hypocrisy

Typical elitist, celebrity snob. I pay more attention when my dog farts than I do these types.....sounds pretty much the same.

Ive seen that a few times here, without backup. And not from a sitting President in exchange for a specific vote.

There’s a difference between campaign promises or stated platform goals, vs a sitting President blatantly bribing the voting population with $5000 cash to vote a certain way.

The two are quite different

Did America really use germ warfare?
Elephants in Rooms - Ken LaCorte

Sep 28, 2026
"Did America’s founders commit biological warfare against the Native Americans? I went looking for the truth behind the famous story and found something stranger." -- Ken

This video, presented by Ken LaCorte, investigates a common historical claim: that United States founders committed biological warfare by distributing smallpox-infected blankets to Native American tribes. LaCorte separates the historical reality from a fabrication popularized by a former university professor.

Key Points:

  • The Real Devastation (1:08-5:24): Following the arrival of Europeans in 1492, approximately 90% of the native population of the Americas perished. This was largely due to the introduction of "old world" diseases like smallpox, to which native populations had no prior immunity.
  • The One Proven Case (5:25-11:04): LaCorte identifies a single, documented instance of intentional biological warfare: the Fort Pitt incident in 1763. British officers did, in fact, distribute smallpox-infected blankets to Delaware emissaries during Pontiac’s War, leaving a clear paper trail through military correspondence.
  • The Invented Version (11:05-14:11): In 1994, ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill published claims that the U.S. Army intentionally infected the Mandan people at Fort Clark in 1837. LaCorte argues this event never occurred; the Mandan outbreak was caused by a steamboat arrival, and no U.S. Army post was present to distribute infected items. Churchill further embellished this story over several retellings.
  • The Aftermath (14:12-19:18): Despite clear inaccuracies, Churchill’s fabrication remained largely unchallenged for over a decade. He was eventually investigated and fired in 2007, though this was largely triggered by public backlash over his controversial writings regarding the September 11th terrorist attacks rather than his historical research.
LaCorte concludes by noting that while the true history of Native American relations with settlers is undeniably brutal, the reliance on fabricated narratives can distract from the actual documented history.

Darializa Avila Chevalier, the Democratic nominee for New York's 13th Congressional District, is a co-founder of CUAD (Columbia University Apartheid Divest). Following her upset primary victory over incumbent Adriano Espaillat in June 2026, she faced significant controversy and scrutiny from critics who cited CUAD’s manifesto, which has been interpreted by opponents as stating goals to "undermine and eradicate America" or the "total eradication of Western civilization."

Background and Affiliation
Avila Chevalier, a doctoral student and community organizer, helped lead the 2023–24 Columbia University encampment and pro-Palestinian protests. CUAD was formed to pressure Columbia to divest from Israel, and its mission statement includes language regarding "anti-capitalism" and "decolonization." While critics characterize these goals as anti-American or violent, supporters describe her activism as focused on human rights, anti-imperialism, and working-class advocacy.

Political Context
As a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), she was endorsed by NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Her campaign emphasizes grassroots funding and policies such as abolishing ICE and investing in affordable housing. If she wins the November 2026 general election, she will become the first Dominican woman elected to Congress.

So she advocates "total eradication of Western civilization", eh?...I'm hoping maybe she would demonstrate how she would do it by shooting herself in the head. :headbang:

I think it’s more complicated than that.

There have always been and always will be people who run for office who are “socialists.”
And there are always differing viewpoints on how best to spend the public’s money. Both parties have over the years put forth and enacted policies that could be considered “socialist”.

Nothing wrong with that, and we’ve seen even with the current administration, some socialist type policies.

In “normal” times it’s marginalized. Most people prefer capitalism when it works. And extremes on either sides usually fail. “Total eradication of western civilization ” isn’t going to get far.

When times are not as economically good, many begin to wonder why our government spends money on programs that don’t clearly benefit the taxpayer. Or worse, why it wastes money on 150% increases to Defense, 40 Million$ weekly to the Taliban, government ownership of private companies, or $1 Billion ballrooms as examples.

It’s a fine line between what is and what’s not considered “socialism” by any given person, and the definition unfortunately depends on who’s opinion and how well off they believe they are at the time.

I’m not pro-socialist, but I understand the reasoning behind the attraction.

We have some socialist type policies now and always have. Again, two rational honest people can view a given policy as socialist or not.

I posted this last week in the Money thread:
===============

The Fed Created Zohran Mamdani

… For years, the United States has responded to financial crises with some combination of lower interest rates, enormous fiscal deficits and extraordinary amounts of liquidity. Whenever something breaks badly enough, policymakers rush in to stabilize the system. By now, I’m hoping people are starting to realize that when this happens, the benefits and costs of these “rescues” aren’t distributed evenly.

In fact, they disproportionately brutalize the middle and lower class, the very same group of citizens that politicians are almost always claiming to help. And such rescues are almost always supported by both political parties. (Read: The Devil Neither Political Party Will Name)

In these situations, financial assets can respond almost immediately to easier money and abundant liquidity. Stocks rise. Bonds rise. Real estate rises. Private-company valuations rise. People who already own substantial assets watch their net worth recover and, eventually, soar.

The person living paycheck to paycheck experiences this very differently. He doesn’t own enough stocks for another bull market to change his life. Instead, he notices that his rent costs more. His groceries cost more. Insurance costs more. Restaurants cost more. A starter home that was already expensive becomes completely unattainable.

….Back in the day, inflation would slow (but never reverse) and economists would announce that the problem was getting better. But the middle and lower class was still stuck with higher rent, groceries and home prices. Nowadays, inflation hasn’t even slowed. Prices are still skyrocketing higher. And the middle and lower class is getting torn to shreds by higher prices.

And that is the political environment that produces Zohran Mamdani…demonizing billionaires, proposing extremely regressive taxes, advocating for social revolution and just throwing around ideas of a state planned economy like he’s talking about the weather to a passerby in the park.

Which brings us to the great irony: the anger underlying his politics can be legitimate even if his proposed solutions make little sense on paper and even less sense in reality.

As I’ve said innumerable times on this blog, a voter doesn’t need to understand the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet to recognize that something feels profoundly wrong when working full time no longer seems sufficient to achieve the basic milestones previous generations considered normal.

And when that voter hears that the stock market has hit another record high, he doesn’t feel richer. He feels cheated…and pissed off…and envious.
