Possible to record motion only on Vivotek ND9541 NVR with Hikvision cameras?

I have a Vivotek ND9541 NVR with some older Vivotek cameras that still serve me well, but I bought a couple Hikvision DS-2CD2347G2-LU cameras because I like the colorvu tech. I have one camera connected to the NVR via onvif, and I have tried everything I can to get the Vivotek NVR to only record motion, but I can't figure it out. The only option I've been successful at is recording the hikvision camera continuous 24/7. Is this a limitation to my Vivotek hardware or do I have a setting wrong? I searched the heck out of it and I've tried everything that my web searches came up with, but I'm wondering if it's just not possible with my NVR. Is there anyone who can confirm here if are able to get a Vivotek NVR recording motion only on Hikvision cameras?

Note, I'm a homeowner and not a camera installer so if you have a solution please speak to me in layman's terms. Thanks.

Thanks, sounds like I'm out of luck. So I will keep the Vivotek to keep running my Vivotek cameras until they don't serve me anymore, but now I need to get a new NVR that can deal with my other Hikvision cameras. Someone just recommended I buy Empire Tech cameras since I'm in the US. Are Empire Tech rebranded Dahua cameras, and are they as good as the colorvu Hikvision cameras?

Or, should I just keep getting Hikvision cameras?

As for an NVR, will something like this work from Ebay?

I'm looking for the cameras to record motion when people or cars are detected, and that's about it. But I will be adding several more cameras around the house so I want to make sure I'm headed down the right path with whatever cameras I choose and NVR. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
