Hi, Playback from my DS-2CD2385FWD-I turret camera seems to be losing frames whenever there is motion, what are the common/possible causes for this, please see attached video
What are you using to record the video stream ?
Is the camera connected wireless ?
Set smoothing to 1.
Test with using H.264
Reduce the frame rate and Iframe to 15.
If using Blue Iris are you running headless ?
If using Blue Iris are you have hardware acceleration turn on.
How many cameras are on the NVR, what are each framerate and frame size. Your NVR can only process 80 Mbps inbound and 160Mbps outbound. If you are near that limit you will see delays in processing.
It is difficult to calculate bandwith for a camera, it depends on the complexity of the image. the quality of the image, the motion in the image, the speed of the motion in the image, the colors in the image, the compression used.........
guess at mbps x2 DS-2CD2722FWD-I Frame rate: 25 Frame Size: 1920 x 1080 - 15 x3 DS-2CD2142FWD-IWS Frame rate: 20 Frame Size: 2688 x 1520 - 33 x2 DS-2CD2385FWD-I Frame rate: 20 Frame Size: 3840 x 2160 - 40
You may be over the top if you have a lot of motion. Cut your frame rate and Iframe to 15 on all cameras. On non critial cameras reduce the quality. Then test again, with motion.
so ive dropped everything down to 10/15 frames and it seems to be working better, but it is night time here, dark and not alot going on.
I will test out tomorrow in the daylight with more motion
thanks SouthernYankee, this seems to have sorted it, must have been running over the bandwidth. can now start to increase my seetings and see how we go
